..so I watched this short video about "indirect techniques" used to enter something called "the phase state." This video seemed to me like they were talking about different wake back to bed techniques used to transition straight into a dream - things like picturing an image behind your eyelids and passively watching it until it becomes vivid enough to become your surroundings. |

The phase state is basically another term for lucid dreaming. I believed the term was coined by Michael Raduga in his book "School of out of body travel: a practical guidebook". The main focus of his book is using what he calls indirect techniques to get to the phase state (lucidity). He believes the best success is achieved when one trains themself to be still when they wake up and transition into a lucid dream (similar to a FILD for example). |
