A big part of LDing is you have to have confidence and really believe that it works. Keep trying, and you'll get it sooner or later. (: |

maybe you need to pause the practices for a time and then when fully rested practice again with more enthusiasm. Lucid Dreaming isn't a race for ultimate perfection, take your time and enjoy the ride. Who knows if you will have LDs while pausing? |

"The trick is to combine your waking rational abilities with the infinite possibilities of your dreams. Because, if you can do that, you can do anything." - waking life
Developing skill in LD takes a lot of discipline. No getting around it. |

One the secrets of motivation is the purpose of the human mind. The human mind functions by predicting the results of behavior, from the smallest movement to accomplishments years down the road. |
|
Only 8 days and you're losing motivation? It took me 2 and a half years to get my first LD. Some people have more luck than others, but you have to remember not to give up just because you didn't have initial success. |

My username does not mean anything. It's not supposed to signal my religious preferences at all.

Settle in your seat and dim the lights
He sure does, i do recommend that book since he describes when to take the different supplements, how much of each and some nice combinations and he describes what happends in the brain and why the combos are so useful. |

If it becomes too frustrating, then take a break for a while. When I first began, I was in the same boat as you. A couple days into my "break", I had my first lucid dream. It was short, but it was enough to bring me back. Lucid dreaming should be fun, don't overload your brain and become angry. Just go with the flow. It will pay off, I promise. |

Lucid dreams, gotta love em.
I too, am new at lucid dreaming; I actually got inspired to start investigating lucid dreaming after I watched the movie 'INCEPTION' (good movie) about a month ago. Before I tried to lucid dream I wanted to learn how it worked, different techniques, and things that help improve your odds of having one (i.e. reality checks, dream journals, etc.) So now, only recently, I have tried several different techniques such as the WTBD method with no avail. But each time I try again, I can feel myself getting closer so I try not to lose hope or anything like that. So I suggest to you to not lose hope and keep trying... |

The first time you take a supplement like galantamine often produces the most dramatic effect. Prepare for your initial experience and don't waste it! |
|
DawgBone, I really thank you for the reply, and I take the advice to heart... do you have any personal suggestions for me on how to use galantamine. You say your first experience with it was mind blowing... what method did you use to induce the lucid dream along with galantamine; do you recommend any certain process when you wake up to use the supplement? |
|
As others have probably said before, 8 days is nothing. A lot of people take a few weeks to get their first LD. Be patient. It takes years of practice to master LDing, unless you're a natural. |
|
Lolwut.
Yuschak recommends that you take galantamine and choline after an initial period of deep sleep. So it is basically "wake and back to bed", say 3 to 4 hours after you go to sleep. He suggests that you don't do anything active, just take the supplements and then relax again. He then attempts a WILD. That's his technique. |
|
I recommend a break, and then trying again |
