i've been smoking at least every other day for going in a year now and my dream recall is despicable. it's definitely not a practice i want to discontinue because it has many positive influences but i'm trying to find a way to mentally train myself to work with the copious amounts of thc in my system because if this thread is any indication, it is possible to train one's dream recall up to ship shape by using a dream journal.
Break on through to the other side.

I can only speak for myself, everytime I smoke my recall goes for a total shit. If I don't smoke at all I'll remember anywhere from 2-5 dreams per night, if I smoke anything at all I won't remember even one. It seems to take a day or two for it to come back also. It's almost to the point now where I won't even smoke anything at all anymore because my recall goes to zero, & I'm really not OK with that at all. I just wanna have my cake and eat it too... is that so wrong?!

It really depends on the ammount consumed and how much you usually use. If you're a regular user, the cannabis makes it difficult to remember dreams, but with light use and a low dose, I find it gives me more vivid dreams.

Congrats, your credibility just deminished on this site.

An ounce a day, sure...I'll believe that when I see it. Wait, I should have realized, your scale is set to grains instead of grams.

Yeah, keep telling yourself that. An ounce only produces about 5 grams of pure tar. I bet those lungs are fine, as long as you're looking from the outside. Especially because I'm sure it is schwag at those claimed amounts.

I think everyone, whether in denile of the fact or not, realizes that pot doesn't help dream recall. Sure it is a great high, but dreams do suffer. Has this gotten the best of my dreaming? Yes, at times quite a bit. I'll have to say that I have never considered a better reason (really) other than health-wise to quit smoking besides dreaming.

An honest and definite 'No' for me.

Of course you could always dream while completely awake, that is called using LSD. Sort of sucks when you actually have to play a part in reality though, yikes.

lol dream sailor, why dont you believe me? an ounce a day isnt all that much. It goes by in about 10-15 blunts each day.... 2-3 packs of phillies. I smoke more when im smoking with other people. Bob marley smoked a pound a week. of course he did die young... and my lungs FEEL fine but im sure they are black. sorry my dream recall/ ld skill is better than yours

last weekend i was candyflippin at an amusement park... when it opened i ran at least a couple miles, passing up thousands of other running people just to make it first on a ride... i was on the first cart of the day and front seat. PWNED also just got done blazing. whats that say? It says im in pretty good shape. ... yes, the run was exausting though lol. but still PWNED a lot of non smokers.

the weed isnt schwag either... i sell that to afford my habit of headies... schwag will not even give me a buzz.

PS: my scale only weighs pounds....

When I had my first LD, first I roll a joint and I smoke it. After this night I stop using cannabis in my waking life.

      cannibis

I smoked ever since I have found out about this whole LD thing. I have read and watched everything I can get my hands on about LD and the conscious, subconscious, and ego. I feel like I have a good grasp of all this sites theories among many others. I have checked over quantam physics, string theory, LD, OBE, astral realms, and all of the 11 dimensions. I have not had one damn LD. I have read enough to convince myself that at least some of this is true. I love the chronic, and make hella grades, yet I cannot LD or anything. Is it meditation, scrying, mirror gazing, getting readings of some sort, quitting cannibis, that will produce at least one result that I can experience? Can someone invade my dreams and appear to me and help me? As Edgar Cayce and a few others have done so? Is this even possible, OBE's and LD's and reincarnation? In the last several months on this board I have read EVERYTHING, here and from Robert Monroe, Carl Gustav Jung, Freud, Einstein, Bohr, even religious texts, Gnostic Beliefs, and mystery religions in the time of Christ and before, as well as the Vedic bible, and Buddahism, Taoism, Hinduism.........
ALL I HAVE TO DO IS LAY OFF THE CHRONIC AND I WILL EXPERIENCE?
C'mon, I really doubt that once I stop, I will begin to know all that I have read. Maybe though, I don't know. Any answers........... I have lots of questions.

Ok. Quantum physics has nothing to do with having an LD. Nor does taking up a religion. Good grades? Pretty sure that has nothing to do with it either, sorry to say.

IF you understand this well, why does it seem your explaination of your understanding is so far off?

LD's don't just occur because you read a bunch of things quickly. LD's occur through efforts you take training yourself to allow them to occur. I.E. Knowing the dreamsigns of your world well. Or doing a reality check every 15 minutes or hour.

If you seriously doubt that it will have any effect by quitting, you just don't want it to have any effect, because you want to keep smoking. You should know that it doesn't really matter what we say will work, it's up to you to experiment and make it work. If quitting is part of that experimentation, than so be it.

      your right dream sailor.....
point being though, imagine finding this out for the first time and coming across this board as im sure all you have experienced. That was me several months ago. At first glance sailor this seems really far fetched, however after reading and proving to yourself then it makes all the diff . anyways, i suppose that I should. this is not the first post concerning MJ. I will start Monday. This beyond dreaming board is one of my favs, cause its so damn interesting and even the people with some far fetched claims may not be off the mark as far as one may seem. anyways, awesome post...always love to hear how everyone fairs with MJ. peace.............

In the rule Smoking Cannabis deteriorates DreamRecall and DreamClearity. SO I entered No. But in some exceptional cases it makes me dream very wild, colorfull and vivid.

When smoking I became tired so easily and never remembered my dreams upon waking. Thought it would help because cannabis is an interesting drug for mind expansion during waking hours (even if is makes you tired) and makes you feel more connected to music, objects around you, yourself, life etc. So why wouldn’t the same idea work for lucidity? (lol).

I’ve not smoked cannabis for about 4 months now and my dream recall has increased by about 300% percent (*no bullshit) I can recall at least 3 to 4 dreams a night, instead of around 2 a week, and I can recognise I’m dreaming and create lucidity around dream signs, that used to be the hardest task while dreaming.

Try and cut out cannabis use to see the effects yourself.

I still try and smoke cannabis but only in my dreams, I smoked so much that I’m sure it will be in my system for another few years (lol).

      So my answer is "No".
100% agree with this , ive gone on and off from smoking weed the past few years and i can say that it makes it harder to remeber dreams althought lately ive put alot more time into thinking about dreaming and becoming lucid and lately had quite a bit of success , When i quit after new years i am ready for the 2weeks of nightmares but then it all gets better much much better recall and more vivid more lucid .. all round better . it was the main reason i quit weed in the first place
