Seems like I keep "choosing" not have LD's

So far this week (counting sunday) I've had two dreams where I was so close to becoming lucid.
In the first one I was touching a rail and started to question myself if it was a dream.

I started to think "This can't be a dream, this rail, the metal, the water droplets on it..it all seems so real" and I quickly responded " No, this is definitaly a dream..I've never been here before".

Now one would think that this would make a guy lucid, but nooo.
I lost my lucidty before I even got it. As soon as I realised it was a dream, I was like "cool, but lets just continue dreaming shall we".

The other one was about someone I know, who is now litterally the girl of my dreams.
At one point I realised I was dreaming, but my imediate response was, "cool" and just continued dreaming.

Even though all I've been trying to do for the past 4 months is to had a real lucid, dream, my mind is the one cheating me out of it.

I can't be to mad though. They were one of the most vived, realistic, and longest dreams I ever had. Dreams the I go back into after waking up, making them last for up to 40 min.

      You're getting there don't worry.

You go back into them? You should go to the tutorial section and look up "DEILD".
      Lucid dreams, gotta love em.

Well I can't help you much because you've made more progress than I have but...

yeah, ive got problems with control too
the last few lucids ive had I realized I was dreaming and struggled for control but then soon lost it.

there are techniques for dream control you can look up to help you in the tutorials, but I can never seem to bring the methods into my dream. not yet, at least

I do that sometimes if the dream is interesting. I consider it still a lucid dream by definition but I still choose to follow the story.
I accept that my reality is always a dream so if something changes I know I'm right.

I don't want to continue dreaming though, no matter how awesome it is Having a full lucid dream is top priority.
I just go right back into normal dream mode without having the chance to even try to control it.
But yeah, I didn't really think about that, that I actually am lucid in a way..but choose to just go along with my dream.
I guess what I want is to break away from the dream and create my on and control it the way I want.

Well sometimes I will still be asleep by the time the dream is getting to its closing point and I can take control and end the dream with a short flight and thinking time or dream sex
I accept that my reality is always a dream so if something changes I know I'm right.

I did the same thing. I ran into a friend and we were talking in what seemed like a mixture of my home and the savannah. I was like "No... I shouldn't do that! My friend wouldn't Want me to!!! Wait, she's not here, she's back at her house, I must be dreaming! I'm actually LUCID DREAMING!... Okay whatever. So, what's up?" and I lost lucidity.

Before you sleep, think of a goal you want to do. Generally stabilizing would be a good one if you want to have good long LDs. So just think When I realize I'm dreaming I will... and voila. You don't even have to have a goal necessarily, just make sure to think that you will take control when your lucid, but goals make it easier. TOTM maybe?
