How to create a dream journal when you can't remember your dreams?

Hey. How do you create a dream journal when you can't remember dreams? I mean, you create a dream journal to improve dream recall, but what do you do when you got no dream recall at all? Edit: Another thing I should add that it feels like he hasn't slept at all. It is like he closes his eyes and then opens them and the whole night has passet. He feels awake though. Well I don't have this problem myself, but I heard that instead of writing about what you "see" when you wake up, you need to write about what you feel. I do this when I know I can't remember part of a dream, but have a feeling about it. E.g - the other night I kept seeing people clamber over things and got a very peculiar feeling about it, but I didn't feel like i'd dreamt about it. So I wrote the feeling down. This pretty much brings attention to the fact you want to dream, so you begin to. Luckily I dream every night, without fail I guess it's because I've always loved and been interested in dreaming, even before I knew about the lucid aspect of it
