Wierd eyes open lucid dream.....I think...

Everything I read on Lucid dreams points to you needing to be asleep for more than 4 hours but last night I was only asleep for 1 hour, when I thought I was awake laying on my bed looking down at the foot of the bed I noticed that my arms could not move no matter how hard I tried, right there I knew I was dreaming so I made a nude women appear but I couldn't get to her b/c my arms wouldn't move....so I tried my feet and they worked so I kicked them in the air and it woke me up but it appeared my eyes were already open bc I was looking at the same part of my bed as in my dream. So I layed back down and it happend again almost instantly.....I had to kick my legs to wake me up again b/c I couldn't move.

It sounds to me like SP(Sleep Paralysis). If that is the case, try aiming for a WILD. Oh, & if you do so struggle, you will end up having a bizarre dream starting like a false awakening. If you want to see one of mine, check the LE section! In SP, you cannot move, you may feel static running through your legs, you might see mirage-like images, & you may feel like a part of you is floating. If you really knew that you were dreaming, then you just did a WILD! Congrats !

Well I'm about the only one on this site that enjoys sleep paralysis, you heard me right.
if you ask around this board they will say its tarrifing, thats not true I lived through about 20 of them last summer and beleive me they gave me the best LD's, first if you want you can enter a WILD like nesgirl said, or if your having trouble opening your eyes you should softly open them or as my brother says, open them with your mind, are you could awaken, theres a 50% chance of a FA (false awakening, in watch you are still in the dream like you had) in this case you would give a realy fast twich, or you could just fight it like I do all the time, works for me.

I wanna be the very best
      Like no one ever was
To lucid dream is my real test
To control them is my cause

Beware! If you fight it, you could end up in a weird type of dream, like the one I mentioned in the Lucid Experience & Dream Interpretation boards. In these, it feels like you are fighting something that is restraining you, & you are shaking very violently. If you end up free of your restraints, fly around, but whatever you do, do not look at your bed (or the lousy unconscious 2nd you that is in it...it tends to scare people)! Don't say I didn't warn you! Thanx for mentioning my comments, Lucid Dream God, & judging from your name, you are a Dream Sage (had LDs every nite for at least 14 years), am I correct?

I have been able to LD for 9 years, but I can have up to 2 LD's a night in the summer, I haven't had a LD in a couple days, if you count the SP dream I had, my name was created in that sense but I have probly ownly had about 30 or 40 probly less (for last summer anyway) I have forgoten so many, but I remember that I used to have them just about every other day with my record being 4 LD's in one night. what about your LDing skills, I sound way better than I am by the way, I always have to deal with that feeling of fighting the force, I just get used to it, it's not as bad as it sounds, although I would recommend WILD to anyone who is new to having a SP dream.

I think it was a dream, and when you woke up the first time it was a false awakening. Second time might have even been a false awakening but you didn't say what you did after that. The reason I believe it was a dream and not SP is because you could move your legs and make things appear, plus your eyes where open which makes me think of a false awakening.

Normally you have to be asleep for about an hour and a half(not 4 hours) before your first rem cycle, where you dream. That is not always the case though, kind of depends on a few things, like how rested you are.

In a WILD, your mind can make things appear, & this is common in terms of SP. Happens to me alot!

Hehe.. you can cause sleep paralisis when your still awake, its quite fun to do. It is possible to get a dream when you first fall asleep becuase you fall asleep into REM then slip into other stages.

Well, that is actually the only way that I can even sleep at night! Been doing that since I was 3 just so I could fall asleep .
