Hello everybody! I recently finished reading a novel called "Pawn's Dream" by Eric Nylund. In it, the main character has lucid dreams every night that are incredibly realistic and in-depth and maintain a continuous flow as if he was actually living a second life in there. Early in the story it is revealed that it is an actual parallel universe.

However, disregarding the fanciful nature of the novel, I find the idea of having a second, continuous life in a lucid dream to be intriguing. Has anyone attempted this? Are there any suggestions on how to approach this?

I have very little experience with lucid dreams, but I am wondering if perhaps one could induce the mental behavior with a metaphor. For example, perhaps one could bring up a 'save screen' (like in a video game) at the end of lucid dream to save it. Then, at a later time, one could bring up the 'load screen' and resume the previous dream where it had left off.

I realize that this seems somewhat unlikely, but the mind has time and again proven itself to be capable of amazing things, and I am always looking for new ways for it to astound me. Thank you for your help!
