How have your lucid dreams changed?

Hallooo I've just started my lucid journey and I've experienced 3 dreams I believe were lucid...the problem I'm having is when I wake up I'm not 100% convinced they were truly lucid. I'm keeping a diary, RCing and attempting WILDs, but each time I wake I'm not sure if I was dreaming the concept of a LD or whether it was the real thing.

To explain better, because I've spent a lot of time learning the techniques and reading the forum lucid dreaming is very much on my mind a lot of the time..so perhaps I could just be watching a dream in which I am lucid, like a film.

To give an example, last nights dream - I was walking along a busy street, I stopped and looked at my hands and saw my left fingers were stumpy...at that point (I think) I realised I was dreaming...I continued to walk to a grassy area...bent down to feel the grass...went over to a tree and felt the bark...looked at my reflection in a car window...I tried to fly and distinctly remember having to tense my quad muscles in order to speed up..

...but still when I woke up this morning, I'm not sure if it was just a dream influenced by what I've been reading...

So my two questions are -

      1. Is this a problem related to my dream recall?

      2. How have your dreams changed since your earliest LD's?

      Thanks everyone

This is exactly what mine are like. BUT I have noticed that the more I become/try to become lucid, the clearer they get and the more I feel as if I'm doing these things myself. I've only ever had one moment of true clarity, and it was a "super lucid" moment. I slowly blinked my eyes open to see a guy staring back at me, then woke up.

So in my DJ if I become "lucid" I always put it as "semi-lucid" or "vivid-semi-lucid" (when i'm almost totally lucid).

I've recently taken a break and getting back into it

I got really busy (exams) and thought it wouldn't do any harm because I'd done it before and it actually helped because I wasn't always thinking about it. I didn't mean for such a long break though! I was off of it for about a month

So the two possibilities: (1) You are actually lucid and in control, or (2) you're dreaming that you're lucid. Is this what you mean?

If so, I have had similar thoughts; however, this was a short-lived excursion when I decided to compare it to reality - Are you sure right now that you're in control of your actions, and not dreaming that you're in control of your actions? I discovered that you could stop and ponder over doing (a) or (b) for minutes, and after doing one or the other are certain that you could've done the other. So, in your dream, before you get excited and start doing everything that immediately comes to your mind, simply stand still. Ponder. You'll certainly know if you're actually in control, or just dreaming that you're in control.

Also, have you been successful with your WILDs? The transition from a waking state to a dreaming state results in no lapse of consciousness. You can be certain that you are actually lucid and in control. If you're not sure, then you can't be sure that you are when you awake either.

Yeh that's exactly it.. I'll definitely give the pondering a go. I'm beginning to realise there is transition...so perhaps I'm somewhere in the middle of vivid and lucid right now.

I haven't had success with wild yet but I've only just started using the auto shut off alarm so hopefully that will make the difference. Though I do find the concept of entering a dream without losing consciousness hard to imagine! I'm guessing it's just something that needs to be experienced.

      Thanks for your help mrT

One way to conceptualise the no lapse of consciousness is to imagine laying in your bed. Eyes closed. Suddenly, four people come into your room, and very quickly lift your bed up, carry you out of your room and rush you outside. As your eyes are closed, you experience the change of light occurring, and you feel the bumps and vibrations as they cart you around. You open your eyes, and you're not in your room.

A WILD experience is, potentially, just like that. You feel these odd sensations, and possibly streaks of light, as if you are being subtly moved.
