Hey DVs I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this thread but this is a song I did recently, that was inspired by waking life and has some quotes from that film in the song itself. |

The Key is to combine your waking rational abilities with the infinite possibilities of your dreams, because if you can do that, you can do anything.
Hey very cool song. I will definitely download the EP. Did you get permission to use those audio clips from waking life? If not you can never sell the song. |
|
Can You Take Me Higher by Creed is also about lucid dreaming. |

That's awesome! Nice job! |
|
I didn't get permission, but I have 0 intention of selling my music. |

Cool stuff. It's different than my usual style but I like it. |

I love instrumental songs. Although they aren't what I listen to on a regular basis. I play guitar so maybe I can appreciate it more. |

Mainstream music is my enemy. Pop and mainstream rock make me cringe. Anything that is mainstream needs to fit a certain template which I hate. |

Great work! Very simple, but very effective. I like the ambient sounds near the end. What did you use to create them? My only problem with the song is that the waking life clips seem are a little too loud for me. |

Well everything in that song other than the waking life quotes is made by a bass or an electric guitar. The high pitched noise near the end is an effect I get by boosting up the reverb a ton, then using a screwdriver on it's side back and forth on the string, kind of like a bow. It's a pretty cool effect and pretty fun to play. If you want to see what I mean, watch any video of dredg playing "The Canyon Behind Her". He uses a lot of different tools, basically anything that's flat and a little bit rusty will work. Here's a clip of him with pliers. YouTube - Dredg @ Coachella - The Canyon Behind Her |
