Getting the conscious mind more in the dream?

Hey. I just had another lucid dream, but I seemingly had barely any emotion and kept forgetting about things I wanted to be doing. Rubbing my hands together and looking at my hands in detail didn't really do much. How can I change that?

It seems to me that Sageous' thread on memory is exactly what you need to read. Recover your access to memory once lucid in order to regain a fully conscious state of mind. It can be as easy as remembering where you left your real life body or remembering what you were doing 15 minutes ago. Basically, any question that involves the use of memory to answer it is enough to get you going.

This is the first thing I do when I get lucid and reaffirms my state inside the dream. Now, if only my dreams were longer...

I forgot to say thanks for the reply, and now I can also say: thanks, it worked. I made a lot of progress in getting less like a zombie in my last lucid.
