      Questions from a newbie :)

Ok, I just joined this community on 9th January and I have some questions that I really want someone more experienced than me to answer :

      1. Is it possible to dream about being lucid or is it still being lucid? Because I have a feeling like if I had dream where I thought I had control over my dream...
      2. Is it normal to randomly do RC when nothing extra-ordinary happens? And is it possible to remember RC on the first night after reading about it? If no, was it just a dream like described in the first question?
      3. Can falling asleep with the thought about becoming lucid make me not see a dream/not remember any fragment of it? Because before I started trying to become lucid in my dreams everything was okay and I could remember seeing a dream every day (with a few expceptions)...
      4. This one is just to relieve a fear of mine- is it possible to get stuck in Sleep Paralysis forever? I mean like SP not ending for the rest of my life. And what is the longest time SP can last?

Thanks in advance to anyone who answers my questions!

*Btw. if topic is in a wrong section, please move it, I couldn't find anything more suitable.

I do believe you can have a dream of being lucid...but not actually being lucid....I'm not sure though so someone else may want to pick up the ball on answering that one. I do know sleep paraylisis is normal and you cannot at all whatsoever get stuck in it. Your body has been doing it ever since you could have dreams. It shuts down your muscles in a way so you don't kick around wildley as you dream. It can last all night but...as for you knowing your in sp...it only lasts a long as your conscious of it . No worries you will never be stuck in it. As for not seeing a dream. I've been keeping a dream journal for well over a year, and I have had nights that I can't remember a thing! It's normal. No worries. I don't believe that thinking to much about lucid dreams will affect you having a dream or not thy night. And yeah on rc's I do em all day long. Everytime I think about it. You do née to actually question reality when you are doing the rc though. As for the remanded of the rc question I will leave it for someone more advanced to help! I hope I have helped a bit!!!

      1. You can have dreams where you know that your actions have no consequences or where you know you have some degree of control, but you don't realize that you are dreaming.
      2. Do I understand correctly that you're asking about a dream in which you RC'ed without any reason and nothing happened?
If you feel like there was no reason or motivation behind the RC, then you may have had a non-lucid dream about RC'ing.
      3. I don't know, but I don't think so? Your thoughts when falling asleep will sometimes influence the content of your dreams though, especially if you WILD.
      4. No. There is no reason to be afraid about this.
When it happens, since you've read about SP, you'll hopefully realize that you have nothing at all to be afraid about. (there isn't!)
It should last no longer than a few seconds.
      Dreams are simple.
It's the painfully simple things the human mind cannot comprehend.
After all your mind is trained to understand the complexity of the waking world,
not the simplicity of the dream world.

      1. It is possible to dream bout lucid dreaming without actually being lucid, though it is unlikely
      2. I do RCs at random times as well. I've never been able to do a RC in my dreams though. When I had my first LD (I've only had one so far, I'm also new) I just suddenly realized that i was dreaming.
      3. Thinking about LD before sleeping won't prevent you from remembering dreams. Thinking about it too much when you wake up might, as it may make you forget about the dream you had just a sec ago which you would usually remember
      4. I don't think it is possible to be stuck in SP forever. You can get stuck in it for half an hour or so. I've got no experience with SP, so I'm not the one to answer this question

You base this on what exactly? A few minutes is more correct imho.

To the OP(in regards to this question), don't be afraid of SP, it doesn't last that long, it might be scary, but it's all in your head and it's something you'll have to get through. Some people experience it every time, others rarely, it depends My SP is actually quite nice, so I guess it's something you'll only know after you've had it
      Are you dreaming?
