Who here has WBTB as their favorite method?

Hello fellow dreamers! I am very excited to share my experience with you guys so here it goes...

For as long as I can remember WBTB has been responsible for the majority of my lucid experiences. I hate being waken up and ever so more since it is winter and it is very cold. Unfortunately (but fortunately) I was awoken by the sound of the phone ringing. I ended up getting up out of bed with the intention of just going back to sleep after a quick trip to the restroom. I ended up getting on my computer for about 20 minutes. I thought it would be a good idea to try and go for a lucid dream since I was already awake. I thought I had messed it up because I was starting to become wide awake. When I got in bed I tried to focus on my breathing to resist falling asleep. To my surprise it was working (haven't had much success lately, will just fall asleep). Be careful what you wish for...

It started off with the usual fleeting images. I kept thinking to myself "LUCID...LUCID". The next thing that happened had to be one of the most amazing, scariest things to ever happen. I fell right through my bed. I did not know what was happening. The sky was very dark, it looked like dawn...I could see the orange light in the horizon. I realized I fell right through my bed and intlao another realm. I was several thousand feet high up in the sky. I was free falling in the very same position I was laying in on my bed. I was squirming and writhing helplessly, wishing to wake up from the nightmare. I could (almost literally, I can't say it wasn't real) feel and hear the wind as I picked up speed on the way down. I think I was in the jungle (I saw lots of greenery, maybe trees but it was dark) but I never found out exactly where I was since I never touched the ground...waking up from the intensity of the whole thing.

I can't say what I went through was not real but it sure felt like it. It amazes me every time. Lucid dreaming has got to be extremely underrated. I tell as many people as I can and they think I'm crazy. Tonight I will set my alarm clock and try again. I got what I wanted ten fold.!The experience was very frightening. I thought I was dead for sure. It was short lived but definitely not forgotten.I awoke from that and thought I was going to have a heart attack... seconds later (again, almost literally) I jumped right into another one!

PS Anyone have any personal suggestions that work for them when using WBTB...already read the sticky but I want to hear what works for you guys. Also I would like to hear any stories from you guys

So....idk if you lucid or not lol, attempted wild i guess.
Wish i could experience it, but at the same time afraid to xD.
But if you experienced something even one, you'll be less afraid to try it the next time.
But yea WBTB is important (although i don't understand the reasons/facts behind it =x).

Whats the difference? Does a WBTB mean you actually fall asleep and then lucid? Does doing WBTB just help me WILD? I don't get what you are saying...

I believe WBTB is just part of a technique (Most actually). I guess it was just so important (It really is) that they had to give it a whole new acronym. It's basically W.B.T.B.W.I.L.D (or wbtb.... mild, dild, or fild.)

Yeah, I use about 4 different methods combined, MILD, WBTB, reality checks, dream journalling. THere all a method of increasing the chances of LDs in a way.

But WBTB is usually the best thing to make sure I have one if I haven;t been for a while. If I write in my dream journal regularly(and usually do) and do a WBTB it almost always works, but sometimes I get to lazy to get up at night. Trying not to do that anymore, my goal is to have all my dreams be lucid by the end of the year, I feel almost 100% certain I will be able to do it.
157 is a prime number. The next prime is 163 and the previous prime is 151, which with 157 form a sexy prime triplet. Taking the arithmetic mean of those primes yields 157, thus it is a balanced prime.

WBTB + MILD is what I do, and it works great. If I don't have enough motivation or intentions then I'll probably fail, but when I really want to LD it works 70% of the time, every time.

WBTB and MILD together work wonders for me. Also, DILD is a method I use quite often with a good success rate.

It sounds to me like you had an unintentional WILD! Congrats, as this is not an easy thing to do for most people.

I can only WILD unintentionally, when I try I get sick of waiting for it to work.

Same here. My only successful WILD has come when I wasn't even planning on it. After getting up to get some water, I laid back down to sleep. Before I did, though, I unassumingly just paid attention to my breathing. I hit dreamland right after. It was sweet

WBTB has gotten most of my LDs for me, and I think its my favourite ... I always find as im falling asleep that i can feel the ground, even when i am in the black abyss part of falling asleep before you're dreaming, and i get a texture anyways, probably the same one ive had from my other dreams.. if i can rub the ground so far its a garenteed LD
