      Stabilization?

So for some reason i can't stabilize my LDs. I try looking at my hands, but the dream still fades. I tried saying "Stabilize!" or something like that, first it worked like a miracle, but it doesn't work now: i hear myself trying to say it in my bed, which wakes me up eventually. I also sometimes slow down like in a chasing dream, can't get out of buildings, everything gets dark, or get a FA where i completely forget that i was Lucid 5 seconds ago. Rubbing my hand sometimes works, but i still wake up kinda soon. For example, I blink once and everything turns dark then i wake up, or the dream just gets blurry and it's over.
Any advice? Should i try DEILDs or should i just stop whining and keep practicing?

For some people it helps to close your eyes and take in all the sounds and feelings, so that you become more familiar and the dream can also last longer as you become more immersed. Also, try not to imagine it as being a dream, try to see it as reality, where you can control everything. So, and I'm not sure if this would work, when it starts to fade think to yourself "Why is reality fading? This isn't normal" or something like that. That way you shouldn't think that you're waking up, and hopefully it will work. Sometimes just knowing that it's a dream is enough to wake people up.

I think covering your eyes is a really bad idea. It would just make me wake up if I did it. You should take in all 5 senses and a fun thing to do is put a cookie on your night stand or waht ever and then whe you become lucid you can eat it to get the taste part down. I found that rubbing my hands didn't always work great so I tried rubbing my knees and the carpet and it worked way better. Everyone should learn to DEILD but my DEILDs seem to be less stable especialy after doing it a couple times.

It would seem that way, and of course it doesn't work for everyone, but it does have great results for some people. It allows you to experience all the other senses in greater depth, and can make the dream more vivid. Obviously it's better for each person to find their own preference.

I found this to be very helpful in my last lucid dream I had.

As for the fading, I'm not sure what to do with that, I've had that problem too. To me though, closing my eyes is always a bad idea to do in my lucid dreams, because then when I try to open them again I open my actual eyes. Though I will admit, going in and out of a lucid dream, even though you open your eyes and close them is a very interesting experience :E

      ps- fuck yeah, klaymen.
