I have the exact same problem! |

Quick question. I was attempting a WILD this afternoon during a nap. I made it all the way up to the vibrations but still failed. I was just sorta wondering if your body is actually vibrating or the sensation is just in your head. Also, any tips on moving past that stage? |

Wow...I never asked myself that question and I feel really stupid about that. |

I've thought about it a little bit and I have to say I think you only think you are vibrating. I'll need to go back to LaBerge and check, but I don't think he ever mentions ppl physically vibrating. Maybe put some change in your pocket and see if you can hear it? |

It just feels so real. |

A late reply, but the vibrations are just part of tactile hallucinations, and I have no idea about the REM cycle reset. Dreams can occur in non REM as well, so it's still possible to still get one going, but the quality of it may be lacking. |

I'm sure there is a physical cause for the vibrations. Something like the rapid eye movement, or spontaneous middle ear muscle activity that happens when we dream. Obviously, you're not actually vibrating, but something in your body is wigging out, causing you to feel like you are vibrating. It is too constant to just be a random hallucination. Anybody know what it is, exactly? |

I do believe that the vibration sensation could be you simply more aware of your circulatory system pumping through your body if you wanted a more scientific answer. However tactile hallucinations would be my next answer. |

I'm not sure, but I think it resets around 12 hours after you wake. |

I have had the vibrations twice now...well, three times if you count that it happened twice before the same lucid dream. The first time was a few days ago (I'm new here and new to really exploring Lucid Dreams!), I was on my couch for a nap, started to drift off, but was aware that I was about to dream and then I get this very disconcerting, startling vibrations in my whole body as if I was being shaken up and down really fast. The first time, it completely scared me and I came fully awake...just laid there and began to drift again and the vibrations happened again, but this time I decided to just relax and then they stopped and I began to get disoriented as if I was falling and then I started dreaming and knew I was dreaming. It happened again this morning during a nap, but I knew what it was...and while I was drifting off, I kept saying to myself, "Stay aware...stay aware...stay aware" and I began to dream and I was fully aware I was dreaming the entire dream. I won't post the dream here, it's in my Dream Journal here, but I was very excited that, one, I was able to successfully enter a LD on my own and, two, that I learned about the vibrations. |

I was happy to read about vibrations online! I had that experience the first time about 2 days ago, it really scared me at first...when I looked up lucid dreaming online, the entry on Wikipedia about LDs mentions that those startling vibrations are common before a lucid dream. |

Has anyone ever experienced bright changing colours during this stage? |
|
I'll have to pay more attention next time -- I don't think I get physical vibrations per se, but do have a pretty distinctive buzzing sound/sensation in my head. |
|
Got the same experience last night. It was kinda like red/orange/yellow colours flashing and a loud noise like a plane about to take off (although quieter this time) and then I felt my legs being lifted as if I was falling upwards. I woke up after that wanting to try again but I guess my paralysis had gone? |
|
I don't think I've ever made it to vibrations.... but when I'm really relaxed in be I do feel some vibrations. All they are is the tensing of muscles all over my body. I don't know if this is the WILD vibrations though. |
