Talking How did you discovered about lucid dreaming?

How did you heard or discovered Lucid Dreaming? It could be from the internet, a book, etc. If you would ask me, I heard about the word "lucid" in the operating system "Ubuntu 10.4: Lucid Lynx" Since then, I researched about the word "lucid". All the research i did led to this article titled: "Lucid Dreaming revealed". I did a little study with lucid dreaming. I then concluded to myself: "lucid dreaming simply means to be aware that a person is in a dream". After that, I abandoned the concept of lucid dreaming. 2-4 months passed and there was a chain of problems in my daily life. I thought to myself: "when will this be over? I want to be free, I want to have a break, a place without problems". That's the time I returned to the idea of Lucid Dreaming. And here I am, trying my best to understand the rules of Lucid Dreaming so that I can be in this place called "Dream"

Hm. I can't really remember when I first heard it. I believe it must have been from my English teacher in high school actually. Never really quite understood what it was, but she and I were close, and I used to tell her my dreams. She told me about lucid al right.

You want to understand the rules of Lucid?
Well, first of all, I'd say there really are no RULES, but rather guidelines. "There are many ways to Rome"... It's good to know the different techniques, but I think you'll find it easier to apply them to your own dreaming situation and control when you're able to just follow your own ways, with the guidelines in the back of your head. Rather then something you feel you MUST follow.

I hope you'll get the wonderful experience of Lucid dreaming - it's quite astonishing.

I think the first time I read was on a magazine. I became very interested in it, but I read I had to keep a dream journal and I was too lazy for that. I also tought I would have to take some kind of lucid dreaming class so I lost interest.
Last year, I was on a forum and I saw a topic about lucid dreaming. The title was something like "any lucid dreamers around here" and I started reading it. Then, someone mentioned dreamviews and well... here I am!
I have been thinking, if that person hadn't posted that I might never have gotten into lucid dreaming again...

When I was about 11 or 12 I started to fall asleep consciously and wondered as I was doing so if I could imagine something and if it would appear. I imagined a man, but he was naked. I woke up and I think it took me a few days, but I looked up controlling my dream and found lucid dreaming. I think I also came along this topic while researching telekinesis. Not sure which came first. But ever since I've always been interested in it.
