Dream Journals - Naming Names and Other Tips?

Since I've started using the site's dream journal, I've come across this situation. I've had dreams about many people I know in waking life, but I don't really want to publish their names out in public.

Do you have any systems to keep track of who's who while changing names? Or do you just use their real names? I feel like I would forget what I called them in one dream and constantly use different names for the same person.

I just started my journal, so I'm getting used to the whole thing. In a notebook, I would easily put there real names as I would know where the journal would be the whole time

Would just love to hear what different people do in regards to this. As well as any advice for structuring, colors, pictures, etc. Thanks!

I think you could just use their first names, I mean, there's prolly tons of other people with the same name out there. I personally don't use the on-site DJ and I write all of my dreams in Dutch so I have never had problems with using their real first names.

I think you will find that it will be the same handful of people appearing in your dream. I am sure you will be able to keep track of the names you changed and such. If not, then I suppose you could change them to very similar names. 'Lucy' becomes 'Loo Loo' 'Dean' becomes 'Dan' and so on.

If you don't want to use their first names, you could create a legend in your notebook to keep track of who's who.

      eg. Bill= Tom, Sally= Susan

I wouldn't concern yourself to much with it tbh. First names are ambiguous enough.

Though another helpful suggestion would be to just use initials.

As the pattern gets more intricate and subtle,
being swept along is no longer enough.
