Sit down in a quiet, comfortable environment. Chairs are fine. Distractions can be annoying, although as people gain experience some report an ability to meditate with more distractions. Now bring your attention to your breathing. Allow air to flow naturally in and out. Do not try to force other thoughts out of your mind. Instead, simply focus on your breathing and eventually thoughts tend to calm down. If you catch your mind wandering simply refocus yourself on your breathing. |
