If I was you I would just take the night off. If you are sore and are really exhausted just sleep. You don't want to stress yourself out.

Anyways i would just relax and if you don't get success, don't get frustrated about it. Sometimes WBTBs don't work. Also were you trying a WILD or something. Is that what you mean when you say "wbtb into a lucid dream". If that's the case then don't get discouraged (well never get discouraged). But WILDs fail a lot its just part of lucid dreaming.

But to sum it up, 1. Take the night off and just get your sleep, chances are you probably wont get lucid since you are discouraged and that will only make you more frustrated and sore. 2. Just don't give up, techniques fail sometimes.

      Good luck man!

Just be patient, lucid dreams take time to perfect. Such as WILDing and DILDing, including WBTB. Here is what I do when I try to do when I WBTB. (NOTE: Get at least 7 hours of sleep each night to increase your awareness.)

I like to goto bed around 9:00-10:00PM and wake up around 2:30-3:00AM in the morning. I usually stay up for only 20:00-25:00 minutes doing reality checks and playing around on DreamViews.com for a while and then go back to bed.

As for DILD, here is what I do. I do reality checks every hour or so. If your a beginner you might have to do reality checks a lot more often than I do, about every half-hour should do the trick. But after a while (I'd say 2 months) of doing reality checks very often. You can do less since your used to them. I'd say every hour and a half. Here are the reality checks I do and in what order. Also, you must believe 110% that there is a possibility that you are dreaming in order for these to work.

      1. I start by checking if the '9' in the middle of my palm is there, and if it is. Then I try to change it by closing my hand and concentrate on a different number in my head such as a '2' or '7' and see if it changes when I open my hand. If the '9' isn't there in the first place, then your dreaming. I usually use a Ultra Fine Point Sharpie to put the '9' on my hand. But you can use other things as well such as a symbol or word for this reality check. (NOTE: I kinda made this up by myself, I got the idea from a thread on dream control and so far has worked multiple times already.)

      2. Then I check for any scars on my arms or hands that I have and see if they are there. If there not then I'm dreaming.

      3. Then I try to put one hand through the other twice, if it works then I'm dreaming.

      4. At last I plug my nose and see if I can breathe through it while it is plugged, if I can then I'm dreaming.

The reason you want to do multiple reality checks at one time is because if one fails you can rely on another one. Increasing your chances of becoming lucid. But ultimately don't become too excited when you become lucid or else you'll wake up and also don't get frustrated or upset. Be confident every day that you'll have a lucid dream tonight. If you want you could try the MILD technique. Just say to yourself "The next time I dream I will realize that I'm dreaming" or something similar to that.
