sure, it could. screwing up inside of a lucid dream has made people upset in their waking life, so it follows that their personality could be changed because of an event or lack thereof in a dream. |

I just thought of this and decided to ask. |

Yeah, I figured that with the events happening or not happening, but I meant if you constantly change into someone you're not when going lucid. |

When I change appearance in a lucid dream it is mostly just a physical change. I retain my normal personality for the most part. If you were to intentionally change your personality in numerous dreams (I have no idea how difficult this would be to do) I can see how it might have some affect on waking personality. Overall I don't think the affects would be too significant, and they would probably not even be noticeable unless someone was consciously trying to change their waking behavior (in which case dreams might actually be a helpful tool to use). |

It made me think of if dreams could ever do that in a subtle way without the person noticing. O_o I can see how some people might wanna change their personality on purpose, but I just thought of that, and how lucids let you live out things you want to be. |

I have an alter ego in my dreams - a character I've made up, actually. I'm not violent, but more assertive and super-knowledgeable. In waking life, I've actually become more confident. |

We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Of course. The things you feel and do in your dreams (your emotions, feelings, and thoughts) are not meaningless in the real world. I like to think of lucid dreaming as an useful tool to make ourselves better in the real world. |

Ya you can definitely change, mostly for the better since you are facing some of your fears and daily problems over again. It can help you get to the bottom of things |
