I find that my ability to nap is directly linked to how long I sleep. I naturally sleep for about 8.5 hours, sometimes 9. If I sleep for only 8 hours, I find that I'm able to nap for about 30 minutes to an hour either in the morning or later on in the day. If I sleep only 7, then I can nap for an hour and a half to two hours, etc. (A while ago, I had found a webpage that had a bunch of circle graphs on polyphasic sleep patterns, which had typical patterns: 1 chunk of ~8 hours, 1 chunk of ~7.5 hours+1 30 minute nap, 1 chunk of ~6 hours+2 30 minute naps, etc., but I am unable to locate it now.
