I have been keeping a dream journal since April 4th. I am lucky enough to have a small enough dream journal in with which I can draw up a graph of results.
I went through all 47 nights worth of dreams and rated them out of 10 based of vividness and length, and how well I could remember them this day.
I drew up a line graph, to show how the scores went up and down over the weeks. I also included on which days I started different methods, gave up, etc.
Before I started my dream journal, I had no dreams, maybe 1 every two weeks.
What the graph shows is, well, conclusive, in a way, but also inconclusive.
It began rather mediocre, averaging a score of 6-7 for the first week. It then went from 0 up to 8/7, alternating each night. During the last 0 dip, I had my first S.P. It then shot up back to it's 6/7 average for a week.
After just two days of trying a subliminal messages song, it plummeted from the average to 0. When I stopped, it returned to rank 6-8 dreams.
I began a subliminal messages video, and my scores went down fast again, staying down at 1s and 2s for the duration of the trial.
As soon as I gave up on them, I had a single spike up to 9, but then back to the average.
I have started trying ADA (All day awareness) for the past three days, and the scores have been going down since then, one score per night. My last dream was ranked at 5.
What this shows is both interesting and not interesting.
For me, it highlights what certain methods did to my dreams- all so far have decreased the rank.
My average is 6/7 score.
Sleep Paralysis (S.P.) seems to come before and after a few 0s, yet this was only after one such set of scores. Inconclusive.
Subliminal messages only decreased the rank of my dreams, and ADA seems to be following that route.
My main reason for this topic was to share some data with people on here who are interested, but also to raise a point-
For new people starting a dream journal, it would be wise/interesting to draw up a graph of your dream scores for each night. I say new people, as most veterans have more than a years worth of dreams in their journals- too much to bother with a graph.
