      Lightbulb For better memory/dream recall

so her is what ive gathered and a possible help to improve memory/dream recall.

we keep DJ's to help remember the dreams we have, we also practice ADA to help us realise when we are in a dream and we do RC's so we can confirm when we are in a dream.

its clear that what we do when we are awake has a big influence in being able to have lucid dreams. so if by keeping a DJ to improve the memory we have of our dreams then why not keep a Reality Journal? this would help remember what we have done in our waking life so just like RC's & ADA we carry these practices into our dream so would then improve memory while asleep and increase dream recall.

i understand there would be alot involved in a Reality Journal and i think thats why ive posted this before trying it lol

      what is your thoughts?

and does anyone already do this?

Yeah, this has been brought up several times. Keeping a journal of your waking-day definitely helps (exercises your memory), but there's another good method. Before you go to bed at night do a short "meditation", going backwards, step-by-step, through your day, until you arrive at the time you woke-up that day. Then drift into sleep. =]

I tried doing this, it is actually quite hard to remember everything! And also very tiring it feels like i'm doing a lot of work just trying to remember.
I also tried to remember my thoughts. For example, what was i thinking to myself just 2 minutes ago.. I can almost never remember. So i realize, my recall while awake sucks. My recall in dreams suck. I definetly see the connection there.

I just realized this would be an excellent WILD technique/anchor.... trying tor emember every event from the previous day is a mentally absorbing task(however, not very intensive)...Hmm. I'm gonna implement this tonight.

I'll move this to dream signs and recall it might get some more attention.

Anywho, this is a good idea. I've read before people have better dream recall when they write down what happened in their day before bed, sorta to clear your memories and make room for new ones, and it exercises your memory anyway.

This is a great exercise to do before bed! I used to do this every night when I used to practice dream yoga. I think I'm going to start again. Let go of some of the day's events before you head off to your dreams.

i found this really usefull last night as i done it in stages!,,,, i thought from where i was right there and then i tried to go backwards in my day to remeber it by using door to door. so i was thinking of the last door i came through to get where i am and the door before that to get to there ...... etc......

after that i managed to have the best dream recall i have had so far!!
