by any chance, was the radio on, or had you had a song stuck in your head...or somethin |

This morning, I had this weird dream. I don't really remeber the dream any more, just that a song kept on playing over and over again. It sounded really familiar in the dream, but I don't think I've ever heard it anywhere else. Because I'm interested in writing music, I tried to write down the melody after I woke up. I know there were lyrics as well, but I can't remeber them anymore. I also had to simplify the melody because I just couldn't remeber it. |

I used to wake up from a clock radio, had an awsome dream once because of the music. |
|
I wasn't listening to anything, unless someone came in my room and turned on my radio then turned it off before I was fully awake. I didn't have a song stuck in my head when I went to sleep either. |
|
I had a dream-construct melody thing a while back, too. I remembered it the morning and kept thinking about it 'cause it was really good. |
|
Interesting. I dream of music a lot. I'm a huge music fan. I love alternative country bands like Wilco and the Jayhawks. I often dream of strumming guitar melodies. I'm a lousy guitar player and I can't write music, but I sometimes dream amazing songs. Weird how that can happen. I only wish I did know how to write music so I could transcribe some of this stuff. |
|
To sleep, perchance to dream...
Try like heck to remember the words and melody. You can tell if you have heard it somewhere else before, being a music lover and all. I believe you probably dreamed big hit!!! |
|
I've dreamed music before... really sweet riffs, but now that I think about it I can't remember any of it at all anymore. |
|
One time I woke up in sleep paralysis and this song was playing in my head, I was like cool! |

What you are determines what you do.
What you think determines what you are.
What you know determines what you think.
Knowledge is power.
I have had music videos in my dream due to music. It is amazing because the song can be like 3-8 minutes long and still the idea of the dream is 9 hours long or something. |

clear eyes. strong hands.
I heard music in my dream last night. I don't remember how it went but I do remember thinking about this forum (in my dream) and wonder what you guys had said about music in dreams. |
|
Yeah Munkle I get that all the time. Im a big Music Lover myself and I know exactly what you're referring to. Like about a week ago I had a non- lucid dream but while the dream was going there was this one song playing in the background. Now I know for sure that I never heard this song before but I knew it was a HIT! I mean the lyrics, melody, and everything else was perfect. And I am Positive this song doesn't exsist anywhere, and that I never heard of it before. But it happens alot. |
|
Woah I never had that happen to me. I hope it does though. You will have to play the song for me sometime soon. |
|
Love like you have never been hurt before
I too have had a dream about a song, it sounded so sweet. I woke up, ran to my PC and typed the song into finale 2004, i have it now, i could probably use it to write a song, its just a melody, no chords or anything else. |

You guys suck.
I want to believe all this. All these things people say are just totally amazing. I have my doubts, but if what these people are writing is truth, i cant wait till i experience a LD. |

I was at a (lame) cover-band concert of Messiah Prophet. They did "Heavy Metal Thunder", and they didn't do well at it. |

Try to imagine a life without timekeeping. You probably can’t. You know the month, the year, the day of the week; you have a schedule, a calendar... Yet all around you, timekeeping is ignored. Birds are not late. A dog does not check its watch. Deer do not fret over passing birthdays. Man alone measures time. Man alone chimes the hour. And, because of this, man alone suffers a paralyzing fear that no other creature endures.
A fear of time running out.
I once dreamed I was watching a movie and participating in it. I remembered a very distinct part of the soundtrack which stuck with me. I was able to sing it, but I can't write music very well so I wasn't able to write it down. |

Dreams are our metaphors...or so I believe.
Every piece of music I've ever heard in my dreams is creepy as hell, and they seem to be original music because I can't recognize or compare it to anything else from my waking life. To think that the brain can write music when I have no musical talents myself is amazing. |
|
Yes. Writing music in dreams is epic llulz. |

An electronic musician Aphex Twin has said that he has written some of his past music in lucid dreams. I highly recommend anyone who hasn't checked him out do so now |
|
Paul McCartney (former Beatle) said that his number one hit "yesterday" was a tune he got when he woke up out of bed he never said dream but there was probably a connection there so yea I'm sure your not the only one and I'm a big musician myself I got music on iTunes (band name industry standerd album ancient of days) and Im really interested in music in dreams i haven't been able to become lucid with that train of thought going on so I've never been near a piano in a dream but I definitely need to try |
|
yes, you can definitely hear original, commercial and innovative music within normal dreams: I'm no musician, but I've woken up with tunes and arrangements of finished songs in my dreams [that sound already fully mixed and recorded] that are as good if not better than a lot of material that has sold well in the real world. |
