      Looking for clarification.

So last night (well actually more like this morning) for the first time I managed to enter sleep paralysis.( I have been trying almost everyday since I joined this site) One of my questions is when are you not seeing hallucinations and when are you actually dreaming. Like whats the cut off point.
For instance this morning I felt the tell tale waves go over my body then I heard a very soft snap to my left, and finally I started to spin in a circle. I think my dream started a few seconds into spinning because I could see through my eye lids but I kept spinning. So i rolled of my bed(I didn't actually roll of my bed which is why I think this was a dream), but I was still spinning and I kept slamming into the side of my bed. Then everything went black and I had multiple vivid non-lucids. Then I realized I was dreaming at some point into one of these I pretty much instantly lost it, but I didn't really wake up........it's hard to explain. I was like half asleep and I kept visualizing a scene and I tried to enter it like three times and failed, but luckily on the fourth time I switched up my tactics and visualized having my face on the cement and after about 5 seconds I was in a lucid.

      Just to recap my questions
      1. When does the dream start and the hallucinations end.
      2. Is what I experienced a V-WILD or do you think I never technically woke up so it was just all the same dream.

As soon as you start to FEEL and not just see.

This reminds me of a technique I thought of about a year ago. Imagine your hand running under a tap. You should be seeing it as you're in SP.

As soon as you FEEL the water, you're dreaming.

You kept slamming into the side of your bed? LOL.

And you probably experienced a False Awakening -- so all the same dream.

^thanks for that. I also have another question. When you breathe in a lucid is it the same breaths your taking in real life. Basically my question is if I hold my breathe in a lucid I won't die right?

      No and Yes.

For the most part, the breath is the same. This is responsible for the "breathing underwater" dreams. Sometimes you can pant heavily though and (I'm pretty sure) you don't IRL.

You can drown in a dream with no physical effects.

Well that's the thing in every one of my dreams (lucid or non-lucid) I can breathe underwater and I breath if someone is choking me so that's the reason I ask.
