When you get improved dream recall/lucidity do you dreams feel more like memories instead of dreams?

I've yet to have a lucid dream and was just curious as to how it felt. I dream quite often and have a dream journal but when I wake up my dreams, they feel distant as if they happened long ago and the quality of the dream is like a vague thought that I can't seem to recall the whole thing. I heard that lucidity feels more like a memory or like reality but my dreams don't feel like that yet and was wondering if to the best of your ability, how do they feel like?

Ive had a couple lucid dreams so far. When you're in a lucid dream it feels completely real to you, but when you wake up it has that dreamy feeling to it. But i once had a lucid where i flying tgrough the sky and it felt 100% real like wind, trees, lights and everything and even when i woke up from it it still felt real and still does now (half a year later). It depends on how vivid or real the dream is

For me at least, recall is much much better in a lucid dream, compared to a non lucid. How vivid the dream is matters as SAFLINT said, but also the emotional impact of the dream, for example I remember my first self induced in near perfect detail, but I have no idea what happened my second LD because I didn't think I needed to put in my DJ (that was a mistake). Also, when I discovered I could use a new aspect of dream control, I remember those moments.

With continued day-time awareness practice and night-time dream recall, I have felt that over the last year my "presence," that feeling that "I'm really here" in dreams has continued to increase. And indeed, in that regard the dream recollections feel just like any other memory, not of a movie I've watched, but that something I personally and directly participated in. It's like having a lucid dream but just without knowing you're dreaming. I will very frequently wake up and these experiences are fresh in my mind and I realize, "Oh … that was a *dream*!?"

I still get the vague/distant feeling dream recall, especially when tired, but the vivid, present recall happens more and more now.
