      Question Lucid straight away

i was lyin in my bed the other night listening to some meditation sounds, i ended up getting deep in thought and the sound are meant to put you into a deep state of meditation.

i got pretty tired and took off my earphones and rolled over and went to sleep, i started dreaming within the hour had a full lucid dream and it was kind of like a WILD but not, i could remember falling asleep and was lucid as soon as the dream started.

      anyone ever had this?

i knew it was within the hour becase i started the sounds just after 10pm, took off my earphones about 11 and woke up after a full lucid dream about 12

do you thing the meditation brought me closer to REM before i went to sleep and helped keep my awareness up?

The same thing happened to me last night. Except I wasn't listening to anything.

i thought it was going to be almost impossible to remember the fist dream in the first REM but that reasured me that there is still alot to learn about the techniques.

any other personal tactics to use just before going to sleep that you have found usefull feel free to post i like trying new things!

I did something similar last night. I became lucid in my first dream not instantly and but like half way through.

It's taken me almost 6 months to have one lucid, and you guys have had plenty in less time.

Annoying is what it is. I need to try harder.

Yes, I keep a dream journal, I do reality checks, I do WBTB, I have done DEILD, MILD, WILD, DILD, ADA, Autosuggestions and mantras.
I have taken breaks and drunk apple juice before bed.

While I don't know that much about lucid dreaming I honestly think the problem is your trying to hard, it's not all about the fancy techniques and the lucid aids. It's just about being aware.

Edit: sorry about the double post. My computer is asploding.

I wasn't clear I don't think, people said that to me before.

I have been trying for 6 months already, and have done all the different methods and techniques. That doesn't mean I tried them all at once for 6 months though. Most I ever did at once was ADA, DJ, WBTB and MILD.

do you have problems with dream recall or just gaining lucidity?

Last night I had 8 dreams, two of which were 3 times longer than the rest- so recall, no.

It's just the crossing the barrier in a dream and having that lightbulb moment of "Hold on a second, do a reality check". It just doesn't happen for me.

I went to bed really drunk listening to techno one night a while back, and I went straight into a lucid within like 2 minutes of listening to the music. In the lucid I could hear the techno song playing and it was soooo long. The song is like 6 minutes, but it felt like I was in the dream for about 15 minutes. I woke up and the song was still playing. It was super strange that the music was still playing. I will never forget that night. I've tried it before when I was super drunk, but I would just pass out and wake up in the morning, not being able to recall any dreams. I think I must have been super drunk and the music put me into a deep relaxation and I basically just went straight into a dream super quick.

I tried it maybe 4 or 5 times, a few half attempts as well.
I basically go to bed after a wbtb, and just lay there, completely still, except for breathing, and laid there for my longest was an hour. I then gave up as it hurt to much to not move and not scratch, so I concluded that it wasn't for me. I even did one this morning at around 7am, still nothing. I didn't even fall asleep.

try getting around 6 - 9 hours sleep (i normally just attempt it after ive woke up naturally) and when you wake up get up and stay awake for around 45 mins to an hour and do the exact same as what you were during WBTB, if you do it during WBTB there is a good chance of falling back asleep, if you stay up you can trick your body into falling asleep while your mind stays awake. this gives you a better chance of staying aware while you go into your dream. visulization is a key factor and doing simple math to keep your mind active. you dont need to stay perfectly still, your not trying to mimic death,, you are copying your sleeping habbits.

dont give up though, i have found just by training on ADA has improved my mental thinking in general and LD's are just big bonuses! good luck

No offense but this is all stuff I have heard before on the wiki and tutorials. I appreciate the help but it's all the same info I have heard before and none of it has really worked for me before/yet.

I think it really just boils down to needing more effort put into it.

Remember that if your attempting to WILD and you have the urge to itch, your allowed to move and itch. You have to do whatever it takes to get comfortable. And when you have the urge to itch, you dont want to be laying there thinking about itching yourself, because that will keep you awake to much. So do whatever you need to do to be comfortable and dont think about it to much. And you dont have to lay in one spot the whole time. You can role to different positions like in kingyoshis tutorial. The point is to be comfortable.

i agree, best getting somewhere you will relax, even if it means changing position. ive had a few crazy WILD expierence, once i woke myself up as i started a drum roll with my hands and it wasnt a dream, was pretty funny though!

I say this all the time, but if you really need help, try some galantamine and choline from dreamamins.com. That should help you get out of your dry spell. And then once you get some lucids, it will help boost your confidence and that helps a lot. You just want to get the feelings of what its like to be lucid and then that will help with mantras and other techniques. I also think it will help you to try out silverbullets technique after you get a few lucids.
