You realise that youre dreaming and understand the full implications, but consciously make the decision to not interfere and instead, you let it run its course. So, it may be like watching a movie again. But youve chosen for it to be that way.
During the dream, I was aware and remember consciously saying things like "wow, i'm watching this dream, i'm not in it, and i can't even sense the jokes coming! ... wait... yep didn't see that (joke) coming.. LOL, omg Colin did you just say?" etc.
So I think it was a major. And I especially agree with the "But you've chosen for it to be that way," part, as I did - I consciously was aware and enjoyed the experience. I also felt pretty awake, was probably not in the deepest of sleep, so I think that aided me in remaining more conscious than subconscious.
Interesting link, though. He has a lot of stress on if "dream characters" believe they're real or not. A promising theme, but I wonder if that's not more important to his subconscious? Sometimes I meditate going lucid with the intention of just conversating and talking to dream characters.
Also sounds like I flirt with level 2 or 3 major and minor usually when I go lucid. Level 4 a few times a week, though I am still working on vividness, lenght, and "non-impulse" control.
