Well Muse,

I have been lucid hundred of times in very light sleep (late morning, when I'm napping) and I have had some extremely vivid and realistic LDs even in light sleep. I have also had alot of blurry/non vivid ones as well. But it does seem that whenever I have had a DILD, and realized that I was dreaming in the midst of a dream within deep sleep these are ALWAYS extremely realstic and vivid. So I think that deep sleep does lead to more vivid/realistic lucids...but that light sleep can also have just as vivid/realistic lucids just maybe not all the time.

Now, in regards to the chat we had before, I believe you thought that something that would make you sleep deeper, like a drug with a sedative effect would cause you to have more vivd/realistic LDs. But it actually has the opposite effect because you are sleeping so deep that you are unable to become conscious and may not even recall having any dreams. It would take a very talented person indeed to have a very vivid lucid dream with fully control while on drugs with a sedative effect.
