Post Dream Recall, need help for remembering

Well lately my dream recall has been...unstable. I wake up sometimes and my mind is black, I know ive had a dream but can't remember it. Other times I will remember my dreams halfway through the day causing me to talk through with myself what happened in my dream, I get funny looks but im just happy I remembered.

However what I am asking is there anything I can do to not only improve my dream recall but stablize it in a way where I vividly remember when I wake up and not in the middle of a day?

I would like to improve these aspects for obviously being able to remember my dreams so that if I attain lucidity I will remember.

Just to let you know I do have a journel, under my matterass which I have been keeping since last year with it's own special pen.

      Hi, Skullkid!

First of all, read this recall tutorial if you haven't already. It has plenty of great tips.

I would recommend trying mantras before bed. Tell yourself "I will remember all my dreams vividly when I wake up." Make sure you are confident, and believe you will recall your dreams.

I also recommend maybe writing a sticky note and put "DREAMS??" on it where you will see it RIGHT when you wake up before your mind wanders off. Sit there for at least 5 minutes trying to remember any little detail. Good luck!

I hope that tutorial helped skull kid!

When I first started practicing dream recall I would focus really really hard on that black, empty space in your mind where you know a dream occurred within that time, and it was more difficult to remember dreams that way. Then I read something about relaxing your mind, focusing on your intention to remember your dreams, and that way letting the dream memories come to you rather than you trying really hard to find the dream memories... It's hard to explain, but perhaps you just need to relax and observe the memories floating around in your mind and focus on your intention to remember you dreams. I hope that makes sense

I find a good way to recover my dream recall, is stopping WBTB for a period of time, it can upset my recall like it did tonight, I know I dreamed but I just can't remember it for some reason! So if you are doing that, give it a break for a few days and see if that makes it better!
