I've been hearing a lot about these binaural beats lately, and I've been wondering if they actually work. If you can please tell me how you used them and what happened when they took effect inside your dream. This way if I ever decide to rely on the beats I'll know what to expect.

Binaural beats claim they can help you become lucid. I'm not totally sure if this is true or not but to me they seem more like a placebo. I could tell a few people that listening to Rise Against before bed would make them lucid, and it would probably work for maybe one of them. It's the same thing with binaural beats. But they use lots of weird sounds and beats that seem so different that they make you think that you will become lucid by listening to them. It seems to just have more of a mental effect rather than a physical effect on your awareness. Now this is just my opinion, I do think that the sounds can change your brainwaves and help a bit, but to me they seem more like a placebo. I'm not bashing them, I just don't put 100% faith in them.

I apologize if I answered a bit weird, but I hope you get the jist of it. Happy lucid dreaming!!!

Binaural beats really do about the same thing as white noise as far as any research has shown (although not a lot of formal research has been done yet). Personally, I find the sounds way too distracting and I can't relax or fall asleep. let alone LD. I prefer just white noise, especially for WILDing.

IMHO, anything that engages your physical senses ought to be avoided when you're attempting to lucid dream.

Well, this is going to sound cliche, but I've always found that new age music helps me to lucid dream. Then again, I've always been a fan of new age music and some people just don't like it. The way I would use this makes me think that any music can really help you lucid dream. Just lay down and listen to your headphones to any kind of music you like the most. A lot of people experience music differently, but what I like to do is to make "movies" out of it. You basically take a song and make a storyline for it. If you use a group of songs, it kind of becomes a musical (without the cheese, because its your creation. This would get me into the mode of creating stories, which is essentially what we do when we lucid dream. It would also bring my mind to a relaxed, yet imaginative, state. New age music was best for me, because my dreams often revolve around fantasy anyway. Just pick which music is right for you and use it to bring your mind to this state.

Binaural beats helps me a lot, I listening to it every night, and sometimes when I wake up to WBTB.
After the WBTB, I sometimes get Lucid. So I think it helps me. I find it very relaxing, and when I listen to it, I feel like floating! It's amazing. =) I believe it help!

I just bought 6 ping pong balls and I am going to use the Ganzfeld sensory deprivation experiment to make me have an out of body experience. I believe that it's all the same so.
I am going to use radio static noise, I will tell you if it works =)
