Want to give it another shot. Could someone answer two of my Q's?

Just some background information. I was into lucid dreaming before (well attempting too) but always forgot to do my dream journal. I am not giving it another shot. Do you think this is a good process to LD?

      1. Always preform RC's through the day.
      2. Write down important events of my day before sleep (clears my head and improves my recall)
      3. Record all my dreams.
      4. Once recall is improved start working on LD

Also, I do smoke cannabis sometimes twice a week and sometimes every day it really varies I never buy it anymore so I cut down alot (my friends smoke me for free) anyways, will it significantly effect my ability to lucid dream? I also am never high before bed but I have smoked once in the day.

I was actually high before bed last night and I never get dreams but I wrote down all the events of my day before sleep and surprisingly I remembered one dream!

i'd say that is a good process, maybe add mantras throughout the day and mantras as you fall asleep. I like how you are going for recall, it helps a lot.

I dont know if cannabis would affect your dreams though

Cannabis won't affect your ability to have lucid dreams, however, it will greatly decrease your recall. Besides that, I'd say your plan of action will generate some good results!

And decreasing recall affects ability to lucid dream, so it does affect your ability to lucid dream.

      Hello Vendetta

      1. Always preform RC's through the day.
Well, I don't advise systematic RC's because they aren't very affective, I think you should either do Reality Checks spontaneously or when something strange happens.
      2. Write down important events of my day before sleep (clears my head and improves my recall)
Yeah, good recall is key to lucid dreaming, so write down as much as you can!
      3. Record all my dreams.
Yeah, write them down straight after you get up, I forget them otherwise.
      4. Once recall is improved start working on LD
You can work on both at the same time, as Lucid Dream prep takes place in the day, whereas improving recall just in the morning. But yeah if you want.

If you have any other questions just ask!

I disagree. From personal experience having low recall doesn't affect my ability to LD, it just makes it hard to remember afterwards.

That I can't argue with. It annoys me intensely. I've recently started recording my dreams again though!

Small thing, but since you've tried before, you can work on recall and LD at the same time...it's not likely to require as much effort to get close again, so it's okay that you don;t wait until your recall is perfect. Best of luck - and welcome back to lucid dreaming! Most of all stay confident!
      Bacopa for improved recall

Ive done all those things and found success, I would also suggest telling yourself 5 times before you goto bed "next time i am dreaming i will realize i am dreaming" repeat that everytime you wake during the night as you go back to bed. Stay focused and Good Luck!

I personally find that I have more vivid and realistic dreams if I go to sleep stoned.
I haven't smoked since I started lucid dreaming though, I think it would be amazing to go to sleep stoned and LD.

And I just had my second lucid dream last night, you should read my DJ

I remember 4+ dreams a night and lucid at least 3 times a week, but when I'm smoking weed I don't remember any dreams at all.

If you only have the skills to do so you can experience anything you can imagine as real.
