Dreams are the way to escape from stress and you can do absolutely anything in a dream. Just keep on going, okay? It's worth it. |

Hi dreamview community, I learned about lucid dreaming about a year ago, and I was really really excited about trying it. I immediately bought the book "Exploring the world of lucid dreaming" after seeing some recommendations of it and read it thoroughly. I tried some of the techniques outlined in there with little to no success. I also have searched this site and others for sites and gave some half hearted attempts at using some techniques |

I too become a bit worn out towards the idea of lucid dreaming, like it's "gotten old" or something. But I just have to remind myself that... |

We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

I am a bit like you. I've been trying for a few years now, on and off. Finally two days ago, I had my first lucid dream! Just keep at it and you WILL succeed. It's advantageous in life too. An ability that most people don't have. It will give you a new perspective in real life. You can simulate daily encounters in your dreams and improve them. And it's all done in your dreams, so no time is wasted here! |

You know where you hope this train will take you... but you can't know for sure

Hm, so you aren't trying it because of stress? I would say then that trying right now wouldn't be good, let the stress go away and then return, stress is a big time killer for LDs, and if you are coming already stressed, it will only grow larger <.< |

Thanks for the words of encouragement guys, I've noticed I haven't been able to remember my dreams as much as I used to, so I guess I'll start by trying to improve my memory of them. |

They can get as real as waking, yes, but this rarely happens while non-lucid. If you are lucid though, it is possible to make the dream more real. |

Depending on how aware you are, they can feel semi-real, almost "fuzzy", to extremely real. I remember having a high-level lucid that looked almost exactly like real life, and things felt the same too. I've definitely touched textures and they feel extremely real. As for feeling my own weight, sometimes when I jump I tend to float a bit more than I should, but that's pretty much it. If you expect yourself to be weighted down, you will be. |

Indeed, it can get really real, you can even feel the water from the rain, the heat from the sun and that stuff if you try! |
