Dream Guides

Hey guys, just wondering if I can get some help regarding Dream Guides? I tried finding mine a while back but I don't think I had much success. There were incidents where I would call out for him/her and then somebody would appear and say they were my Guide, but they didn't actually do anything beneficial, which brings to mind that none of them were actually my Dream Guide at all. I never saw any of them twice either; it was always a different person - one of which tricked me into thinking they were my Guide and then did everything they could to throw me off-track (and even did things which I feel were to try and wake me up). I wasn't very experienced at lucid dreaming back then. Most LD's would typically be quite short and I wasn't very good at stabilising or doing things. However, I would consider myself a lot more advanced these days. In terms of inducing lucidity I'd say I'm sorted, but I still struggle with stabilisation a tad. In some dreams I manage to nail it on the head and I'm grounded like a boss, but in others the methods I usually use aren't as effective. Anyway, down to business: I'm going to resume my search for my Guide again, and I have a few questions I'd like to ask those who are more advanced in this area. -How many of you have the same Guide? Is it typically the same person or different? -How do I know when I've found my Guide? I've been lied to in the past. -I would prefer a woman, as I feel a lot more comfortable around them than I do men. Can I choose the gender of my Guide? -What are they capable of? -What does it feel like to be in the presence of a Dream Guide? -I've heard a lot about them knowing more about myself than I do. Are they capable of helping me with real life issues? A response tonight would be preferred, as I intend to get lucid tomorrow morning and make progress in this area. If I think of more questions I'll post them accordingly.

I have the same guide, generally. It's always the same person. I think you'll know if your guide reappears many times, and if they show a higher intelligence. For example if they're aware you're in a dream before you become lucid and they help you get lucid regularly. I'm not sure you can really choose your guide. It seems like they sort of show up on their own and you take what you get. But there are a lot of differing beliefs about what guides are and where they come from, so it depends on what your views are. For example the other side of it is that since dream guides are a part of yourself, you should have some control over who your guide is. My guide is capable of kinds of dream control I have never been able to do. He can teleport us or change the scenery in the blink of an eye. He knows the ins and outs of everything, so if I want to go somewhere or do something, he can show me how. He is very wise and can give me advice on my waking life. Being in his presence in the beginning was strange, because he didn't feel like myself. Rather, he felt foreign. He has a very intense energy that took a long time to get used to.

I believe in guides strongly my self. I am male an my guide is female. I have known if her presence for a long long time. But before comin here and learning these things I never thought much of it. Around 9th grade she gained a physical representation in my dreams as a character I could know see. She is that same presence and we share a odd bond with one another. She always looks the same for me. As a girl I knew from 7th grade all through my first year of junior college. She saves me quite often in nightmares and can even change a bad dream to a good one. Also she has made me lucid a few times. You know how to know. I mean when you find yours you will know. Trust in that. I was confused about it and after sharing a few dreams I had a realization of what that presence I have felt is. People will put their own theories out there.
