Have you ever written a song in a dream?

Have you ever done it? Because one of my goals is to recreate Woodstock 69 which is kinda hard but I managed to create a big field and lots of random people. (I might overlook the rain and mud from Woodstock...) And I created some artists (well three). Although none of them was at Woodstock but anyway, one of them was Paul McCartney and he was singing this song. It sounded really good so I told myself to remember it which was really easy because I woke up right after hearing it. And so I googled the text, and it doesn't exist. So basically I came up with song without really doing anything besides listening, which is cool.

Has anyone else done anything similiar? It doesn't have to be songs it could be anything really, maybe ideas for movies, poetry, jokes etc.

I came up with a piece (not a song) an recreated it. I like it, but it hasn't had much exposure, so I don't know what other people think.

I find in my dreams, much like jokes, and inventions, music I make is better in the dream than it is when I wake up and realize how crap it actually was.

I once heard a song playing in my dream that was not a song in waking life (as far as I know.) I created it on some subconscious level. Like everything else in that dream it was a symbol.

Yes you can create music in your dreams, and many famous artists have. You have to remember to bring the tunes and lyrics out before anything else on waking as they are the first things to fade from memory.

I heard a Chinese singer saying that she dreamt of a song, and that song became her next album hit song, the title is translated as "Flower in the Dream".

I've made a spontaneous beatbox in my dreams, it started with some girls crowded round me, and out of nowhere I dropped an on the spot version of "if you wanna get with me theres one thing you gotta know.. I like my beats fast and my bass down low, I like my bass down low down low down lowww" the girls went crazy for it lol, then I came up with a random beat i've never heard before. Interestingly I was able to beatbox the first song when I woke up, though couldnt recall the second 'made up' one.

I wrote this one. I made it with garageband in under 3 minutes. Plus it was 2:00AM so I was pretty tired. It also sounded better in my dream.

Its about this character in a video game ( Team Fortress 2 )
