Question Does realising you're dreaming meant that you are lucid dreaming?

I never had any lucid dream experiences. But there was once, just once. I was walking in a dream beside my idol. And suddenly I thought since this is a dream why don't I do something about it? And I went up and caught hold of my idol's hand and held it tight.

But everything was controlled by my dream afterwards.

So for like 1 second or so that I realised I was dreaming and taking a different action, does it mean that I'm lucid dreaming?

that was a lucid dream. any second you realize you are dreaming, it is a lucid. control isn't necessary.

Like Eppy said, lucid dreaming is literally just realizing that you're dreaming (inside the dream, of course). You may have a lucid dream with or without control, as well as a non-lucid dreaming with or without control.
Most lucid dreams (in my own experience) are not 100% lucid, sometimes you will become lucid for a little while, and then lose lucidity.

Sometimes I may realize that I may dreaming and just continue on in my dream non-lucid.
