While in REM and SP do our lungs act the same as our "dream lungs"?

So I had a dream that I was in a gym like place and did a reality check (the plug your nose one) and found out I was dreaming. Looked at my hands for a bit (making the dream so vivid) and really tried to "anchor" myself in the dream. The dream became as vivid as real life. Talked with people, then noticed I was thirsty. I also noticed there were like 5 drinking fountains and I tried drinking from each one but could not quench my thirst. Also felt my throat getting dry every time I tried drinking water. I gave up and a little while later the dream ended into a FA and did the plug nose RC, realized I was still dreaming and got out of bed and the house was a mixture between mine and my grandparents house and I flipped on some lights because it was dim (and I could adjust the light level). My parents were there working on something and they told me, "people are trying to sleep, don't turn those lights on". I told them, "They won't mind, trust me." And I questioned my reality again and checked my watch, the hour said 7 or 5 or something and it was higher than the other numbers, I looked back and the hour number was gone and the minutes did not make sense. Then I did the look at my hands thing. So I noticed I was thirsty and went out to the kitchen and tried drinking water then some apple juice and same thing happened. My throat got dry every time I drank and my thirst was not quenched. Then the dream faded.

Does this mean that our breath and lungs relate the same as in our dreams? I mean, because my throat got dry only when I tried sucking in the water or juice. I think that if we really believe our thirst will be quenched, then maybe in the dream it will be. Kinda like the quenching is being simulated in the brain. Thoughts?

I'm not sure I understand. Are you saying that your throat became dry in waking life when you tried to quench your thirst in the dream world?

It just felt dry in the dream. I don't know if it became dry in the waking world.
