I'm having trouble dreaming of a person?

Hello, there! Um, so I've just started to 'lucid dream', and I've kinda trained myself to perform a number of steps to help me more.

First, I'll 'teleport' to a bedroom, the design of it I have firmly placed in my head. Sometimes there will be a person trying to interfere, and if that happens I'll tell them to leave, sometimes they do.

Anyway, once I get to the room, I'll imagine a person in the bedroom. This person is my favourite actor (Yes, I'm terrible), but no matter how hard I try, I can't dream him. I'll say his name over and over in my head and I'll say it outloud, I'll try imagine him standing in front of me, but no matter what, he won't appear! Eventually I'll get so frustrated that I'll unintentionally wake up.

The only time he has appeared was in a lucid dream a long time ago, but when I asked him to talk to me he just stared off in to the distance, and the dream ended.

I really am baffled! If anyone could help me, it would really be great Thank you!

Hi dizzyjellyfish. It's possible that you are in a bit of a battle with your subconscious. Some would say that there are parts of our mind that feel it is an intrusion that we become conscious in our dreams, and so in this case the harder you try the harder your mind may resist what you are hoping for. If this is the case it may make sense for you to relax this particular hope and see what happens - maybe this "truce" will actually lead to him appearing! There could be a more mundane reason too, since some people have trouble visualizing very specific people or places in their dreams, so it might be hard for you to see this particular actor clearly. Your recollection about him appearing a long time ago but being unresponsive makes me think it's the former scenario. Best of luck!

Hey, congratulations in the first place on having an LD and designing the bedroom, that's really cool!

So I have a trick for getting who I want in a dream, and it works probably 3 out of 4 times for me. Don't know why it works, don't care, just call him on the phone and tell him to meet you. Hah, I've even picked up the phone and without even dialing the number, he's already on the phone! Sometimes I talk to him and he doesn't show, but sometimes I talk to him and he does show. I know other members have tried this and it works for them, so give it a whirl.

      And good luck!
