Question Was this thing I experienced today an actual lucid dream or not?

      Hello,

Even thought I've joined these forums a long time ago it wasn't until now that I've decided to post something. Something strange has happened today and I want to know more about what exactly that was.

      Please, read the whole thing.

I was sick today so I stayed at home. I've literally slept until like 5pm and to the end of my sleeping I've experienced the following dream:

I was on a talk show with Jan Kraus ( famous host over here in my country ), but it wasn't really his studio. It was somehow yellow-ish, completely made up, I've never seen it before. I remember discussing some stuff but I can't recall what exactly.

Then we've moved somewhere outside and some sort of a competition took place. There was a family that had a task and that was to, from their memory, imply the positions of all the important ( large ) Czech cities on the map of the Czech republic. Ya, I know, my brain is really strange LOL. Well anyway, they seemed to not be able to fill a single one, they were pretty unsure and looked like going straight out. Then suddenly they started marking everything and Kraus looked really surprised. I saw all this from some sort of a first person view. I guess that I was some asistent of his because when they finished he called me to the board and asked me whether they forget something or not, because he thought so. They indeed did forget one city, Pardubice, to the top left and we told them so. They looked really down because they were suddenly farther away from the prize. To still win, they had to carry dish plates in between their legs from the location we were in to the forest nearby, where they had to manage to carry them across a small river and there, behind that river, was like a canvas painting with Pardubice on it and they had to reach it.

I forgot to say that the competition took place on some sort of a field or hillside or whatever you call that.

Two guys from the family had to carry those plates. First one went of and as the second one was about to go his girlfriend came to him, and bit him to the shoulder while pulling his pants off so that he could carry them better. ( the biting was, as I understood it, so that he doesn't get a boner. Oh god. My subconscious really is weird. I feel bad that it came as a sure thing to me when I was dreaming about it, LOL )

Anyway again, they went off and when they were in the river they both fell down and they hadn't managed to get to the canvas. I remember looking into their faces and seeing the sadness and stuff.

Then suddenly I don't remember anything more about them and the cool/strange stuff began to happen.
I mean, those things before were strange and cool as well. Mainly because I didn't know those people and Kraus doesn't even have such show and I don't know the place, but whatever.

      ----

In the forest, over the river, I saw the Weasley family ( from Harry Potter ) and I don't know why, but suddenly I saw Ginny riding off from the forest on a bike. I somehow transformed into a guy with brown hair, or maybe Ron Weasly, I don't know. I'm brown haired in real life but it felt like it wasn't me. I ran to the point where she rode and suddenly I was atop of a road that was very steep. Like the ones you have in San Francisco. I jumped off the edge and started flying down. I was speeding up and slowly catching up to Ginny on her bike. I saw all the houses aside the road at the time, all the details... it felt really realistic. I even felt the wind running across my body and I actually had to move my legs like plane's flaps so that I would change my altitude above the road, lol. At some point I flew past her and was looking ahead from then on. I saw that there is a end of the road ahead and there was a fence with trees behind it, some sort of a park or something. The trees looked dead, leafless, like it was autumn. I tried really hard to move my legs in a way to fly higher, thus not hitting the fence and I succeeded. I kept twisting my course and kept climbing higher and higher, getting to like 150 meters or so. The world around looked like Britain, Czech rep, something mid european. It was cloudy, not raining, cold... Then I lost my acceleration and started falling back down, I turned left and was semi falling semi flying down at a great speed. I have managed to fly over the park but there was a road that I knew I had no way of managing not to hit, so as I was getting closer to it, while still trying to move my legs and get higher, I closed my eyes so that I wouldn't feel the impact as much. As I awaited the impact I suddenly felt my ear shivering, like if something was in it and I woke up. It was actually shivering me in real life, I had my hair in it or something.

I mean, that was quite strange, wasn't it? Waking up just as I was about to hit the ground. And it felt really, really real. I would say that it was a lucid dream, however I don't remember realizing so during the dream... So it probably wasn't one. But I felt in control, that's what's weird. When I was flying it felt like I was really there.

A bit of a background on me: I've discovered Lucid Dreaming like a year ago and was quite interested in it. Tried many attempts at WILDs during that time but without success. Had a journal for a while. My interest fell off after a while because of not succeeding but now it came back. I've been trying to MILD using a visualization together with repeating "I'm in a dream" when falling asleep. No luck so far, this is the first thing that was noticeable. I've started keeping my journal again a few days back, too.

What do you think about this and what should I proceed on doing?

Thank you very much for reading.

Hey Maljek, that was quite some dream! Unfortunately, if you weren't aware that it was a dream, while you were dreaming, then it wasn't a lucid dream. But the control is a good thing. I've had a few non lucids where I had special powers, that I just accepted as reality. Sometimes they trigger lucidity.

Keep on journaling, it's good the amount of detail you remember. The better your recall is, the more likely you will eventually attain lucidity. My advice is definitely to keep at it. Try different techniques, but give them a fair try and don't give up too soon. Ask lots of questions here too. Keeping the subject of attaining lucidity in the forefront of your mind is very helpful. Finally, make sure you're getting adequate sleep. Different people need different amounts of sleep to achieve lucidity (I need tons, like 10 hours).

      Best of luck to you!
