Thumbs up I had a Lucid Dream.. but I didn't know how to control it!

So just a few minutes ago, i woke up from a lucid dream. Right after I had it, I wrote it down in a new journal app i've been writing in. So I wanted to copy and paste to hear everyone's opinions. By the way, I always sleep with my eyes open ever since I had surgery on them.

"Holy crap! I just had a lucid dream! It started out as a normal dream. I was playing a video game with my ex fiance across the internet when all of a sudden a fire alarm went off and I smelled a burning scent. I believe I didn't put out a cig all the way. After that I noticed that my old shitty bestfriend calvin was out on my porch with some guy. I tried to have them leave but they didn't. Next thing I know I was playing some kind of kick wrestling with the new guy. I remember swinging my leg for a kick when all of a sudden I seen my leg in reality swing like in the dream. After that, I realized I was talking in my dream as if I was thinking to myself in my mind. I come to realize that it was a dream and to test it I made myself sprout wings and knew I couldn't do that in reality. Soon after I realized I was able to switch to what my eyes were looking at while in my dream. The rest is foggy but I remember teleporting to places. It was all insane!!"

I didn't know how to control it and I think thats why the rest is so blurry and why I woke up. I think what helped me get even that far in knowing it was a dream was by listening to a Lucid Dreaming CD by Stephen LaBerge a couple weeks back and remember to try and see things that you can only do in a dream. What is a real mystery is that when I was a young teen, I was able to see while sleeping in the middle of class. I can't do it any more though. That brings me to the conclusion, is it possible that I used to lucid dream all the time when I was younger and never realized it?

You don't always have control in a lucid dream. It will get better with experience. You can also read some tutorials on DV Wiki. But the blurriness and waking up too soon can be taken care of by stabilizing the dream. Again, there are great tutorials on this subject. (I don't have much experience with either of your problems).

When you see through your closed eyelids, I believe that's astral vision, using your third eye. And yes, it's quite possible, that you have been lucid dreamning as a child. That's the prime age for that.
      Happy dreams

Thanks man, i was starting to think no one was going to reply back. So do you think im seeing things not because my eyes are open but because im using astral vision? I had posted on these boards before about how i always dream about a present lover cheating on me and the next day i will confront them about it and i'll find out its true. Its always like my dreams warn me of dangers. I really do believe i have some gift i havent tapped into yet.

For some reason I thought, this happened before your surgery. I have no idea how it works, when you sleep with your eyes open But there is astral vision, that you get when you have out of body experience and during SP, when you frequently 'see' your surroundings when you know, your eyes are closed.
The third eye is also associated with intuition, so there may be a connection. Or you just picked up subtle hints from people around you and your dreams are reflecting that. But it's entirely possible, that this intuition is more evolved in some individuals, so why not in you?

I would like to know more about this. Is there a way i can enhance my intuition? I think that will be the first step to learning more on this.

I think that meditation and working on your chakras would be the way to go. I don't know much about it, just a noob into this. But I know, that when working with chakras, you have to work on all of them equally, so they are not out of balance. And don't overdo it, it may result in some unpleasant side effects. I would research some reputable websites and go from there. Mayby people in Beyond dreaming forum here on DV will have more info about chakras. Good luck

Well once again, thank you for all your help and guidance. I will do some research into chakras. To be a noob, u can be proud of yourself for being the only one to give a damn about giving me a reply.

Thank you. But I wouldn't be too hard on this community. Everebody answers to posts he feels will most likely benefit from his insights. I guess, nobody had anything helpful to add to this post. Happy journey
