      Best Time for Auto Suggestion

      Hello dreamers!

For all of you out there that have trouble with auto suggestion or aren't seeing the results you planned; maybe I can help just a little.

I find that for auto suggestion, the timing in which you suggest something to your mind is key. For example, if you are fully awake and aware, like in the middle of the day, the chances of your suggestion following through into the night are very slim. If you perfrom auto suggestion just before bed your chances are far better, but still, not optimal.

The key timing for auto suggestion is the sleep/consciousness border. At this time I believe that the brain is open to suggestion much more than it is during a more aware state of mind.

You will need to relax yourself (by performing relaxation techniques like deep breathing and such, whichever works for you) Personally I find breathing deeply for a few minutes to give me the best results. Once you feel all of the tension in your muscles release and your breathing come to a slower pace, you are almost ready.

Once you realize random thoughts coming forth into your conscious awareness (or begin to see HI) you are ready. At this point the brain is very close to sleep and open for suggestion to the fullest. It is now that you should repeat your mantras.

I have found that this produces excellent results compared to using auto suggestion during a more aware state of mind. I hope this helps!

      Sounds like a good technique.
I tend to use autosuggestion as i'm laying there about to sleep. i am yet to experience any sort of HI.

Chewnie91, thanks for posting that. Good stuff! I am curious as to how you personally 'suggest' the autosuggestion? ie. with lots of intention, light intention, forceful intention, passive intention?

Passive intention would be the best choice for it. I find if you focus too hard on the intention or put too much willpower into it it doesn't stick as well as a passive suggestion. Repetition as well.

Thanks for this! I usually just start autosuggesting as soon as I hit the bed, maybe this will give me better results

      Lucid dream please!

OR you could simply use binaural beats (>13hz) at any time to achieve the suitable state of mind for autosuggestion.

Yes but for those who wish to do it without any aids this works well. I don't like using any form of supplements or anything to induce lucids, I prefer to do it naturally.
