      I want my 2nd Lucid!

      Why can't I have a second lucid

I had my first ld 2 weeks ago and haven't had one since. Can anyone recommend me and easy technique? don't want to try WILD..I'm on easter holidays soon so I can have more sleep and will be able to write down my dreams without rushing and wating untill the afternoon. Hopefully that will help.

This is known to happen quite often from what I have seen around the forums and other LD sources. My best advice would be to just keep thinking about lucid dreaming and make sure the motivation to do it stays. I'd also recommend taking a look at this, because it is the technique I used to get about seven lucids in a row, until I got bored: http://www.dreamviews.com/f49/all-da...gyoshi-113253/

Good luck, and hope you get many more LD's soon!

Don't despair, it's completely normal, even later on with lots more experience Look at it from the other side - many people don't have their first one for many month, you had yours much sooner, right? So you are good at LDing. Believe that, and they will come

      1. First of all, you gotta switch to thinking positively. If you are telling your mind that you can not do it, why should your mind think otherwise?

      2. You have to put more effort into journaling. If you wake up right after a dream (you can use mantra 'I wake up after every dream and I remember it'), you need to write it down right away, or at least some keywords. But waiting till afternoon is not good. Writing your dreams tells your mind that dreams and remembering them is important to you and it will help you achieve both.

      3. MILD is a wonderful method, I would stick with it. If you not doing it yet, I strongly recommend you check out the Sporadic awareness technique Basically what it is - couple of times during day, you stop what you doing, look around yourself and genuinely ask yourself 'Am I dreaming'. Really consider your answer, don't just say 'of course I'm not'. Some dreams can be as vivid and detailed as waking world you are in right now, that's why you have to really consider your answer.

      4. Remember how happy you were when you got your first lucid. Recall that heppiness everytime you think about your next one. Your mind will associate LDing with you being happy and will help you be happy again. Read up as much as you can about LDing. Make a plan what you'll do in a lucid and write it down. Daydream about it and as you falling asleep. Your mantra should be last thought before you fall asleep.
      Happy dreams

Thanks Mystycal I will be sure to check out that guide and I am trying to keep my motivation up.

Gab's, In the holidays I will be able to right down my dreams as soon as I get up, just downloaded an app on my iphone which lets me write down my dreams, and can even password lock your dreams so no one else can read them, so I will be able to write down my dreams straight away, this will especially be helpful when I wake up in the middle of the night, many times I'd remember my dreams and be too lazy to jot them down. I have been trying the Sporadic awareness recently, but never take them seriously as I always think similiar things to what you put. Which was probably the problem, this time I will take it seriously. And yes, number 4 should help me keep my motivation up.
