      The Feel of the Dream

Last night I successfully lucid dreamed through the use of a reality check. I remember performing the check (hands) and then becoming aware that I was dreaming. From there I tried to realize my surroundings, but that wasn't working too well for me, so instead I just started to walk. I then performed two actions (one was driving and one was sexual). They both felt real.

However, my question comes from the fact that It is hard for me to distinguish between the 'feel' of a lucid dream and that of a regular dream. Should there be a distinct difference in the feel of the two? What if I had just dreamt that I was performing a reality check when in fact I never had control at all? I still think it was a true lucid dream, but I can't remember the ending of it either. Do you usually remember how it ends, or does it end without you knowing?

Lucid Dreams are dreams in which you know you are dreaming and have varying levels of control over it. They are far more realistic and less bizarre than non-lucid dreams. They are highly vivid, and it is easier to slip back into the unconscious state.

Yes but could your mind play a trick on you by dreaming that you did a reality check, making you assume lucidity, when in fact it was just part of the dream? That is sort of difficult to explain but I feel like it is possible for a reality check to occur as part of the unaware dream state without you having any control.

Not every lucid dream is vivid and with control. But there should be a distinct "wow" feeling, when you realize you are dreaming. At least for the first few LDs, until you get used to it. It is possible to do RCs and have some control in regular dream also and dreams about having LD are common. Hope this helps

If you are aware that you are dreaming that means it is lucid dream. It depends that you will remember the ending part of your dream or not.

With your first few lucids that is a pretty normal thing. The dream might not feel real and might be a bit blurry. I think you realized you were dreaming for a few moments and then snapped back into the dream. It could also be a problem with your dream recall. Just keep it up and your lucids will start to feel different and more vivid!

      Yes.

It's even possible that you consciously do a reality check and are still unaware.

The whole point to a Reality Check is the conscious awareness. If you are not consciously aware of the outcome of your reality check, it will probably not work.
