      Smoking destroyed all progress

I would like to say that I've been on my road to lucidity now for about a year and a half now. When I started I was smoking weed very heavily for about the begging year. Apon learning that weed actually was holding me back on my goals I quit. Within the next month I had in average of 2 dreams a night 62 recorded dreams 4 of witch were lucid and I finally reached a point in my last lucid were I stabilized and had a great time. This is we're I messed everything up I decided to smoke the sinthetic weed for u who don't know what this is it stuff u buy at the store and smoke its a high like weed but dosent show up on a drug test. I did this for about a month only 3 recorded dreams and they were very blurry. I have quit again I'm happy to say but I feel like I have lost all progress from my little slip up. I took a nap this afternoon with three days without and still. No dreams that I could remember to recored. Please any thoughts or words of incouragement I would appreciate it thanks!

Yeah, cannabinoids can definitely mess with your progress. :/ The synthetics I'd bet are even worse than weed.... At least THC is an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor like galantamine, which I don't think any of the synthetics have going for them. It is possible to recall lots of dreams and get lucid when you smoke, but for most people you have to already be pretty good about it. It took me a few years to get to an considerable recall or lucidity and I smoked all the time, my only lucids were nights when I didn't smoke. Then I stopped for half a year and my recall got pretty good, and eventually I started getting really frequent lucids, like several times a week. Now I'm back to daily smoking and I still get at least a couple a week, and can easily remember dreams every night if I want to, albeit not QUITE as well.... But yeah, basically, if you want to smoke AND have lucids, you need to get really good at it first, and know that you're still making some sacrifices. Good luck in whatever you choose!

Hi Wurlman, I can say that my experience is a bit different but this is how it went for me... I began recording my dreams and having lucid s around the age of 15 and shortly after found a good friend in marry jane lol, i became a big pot head for nearly a decade as i am 24 now and have quit hopefully for good a couple months ago. I would generally not remember my dreams or much of them when smoking and becoming lucid was out of the question. there were a few times where i would stop for a week or two to clear my mind and my dream recall would return in a day or two to the point of remembering 3 or 4 a nite and after about a week i would be able to have a better chance at lucidity but as soon as i started smoking the recall was gone. I finally decided this year that my love of dreams and exploring my inner self was more important then getting high so i quit, now my recall is back and better the ever and iv been having lucidity again which i greatly missed!!! Im glad to hear that you would rather explore dreams then just get high as well even tho if you really want you can get high in a dream and not suffer the effects of bad recall and rem loss lol. I would suggest jogging or something so by the end of the day you cant wait to crawl into bed and pass out, it helps me with having a deeper sleep. if you do decide to smoke again try to keep it in the earlier part of the day so your more sober by bed time I think that might help but all in all weed effects everyone differently and you have to decide for yourself what works and whats more important. this is just my experience and 2 cents take it how you want.

Hey thank Pisces24 our story's are quite similar Im glad to here ur recall came back for u in a few days. I'm happy to say that last night I recorded 2 still very vague and unclear but two is better than nothing thanks for the help! It's also good to here someone else is as involved enougft in dreams to realize smoking is not worth it. I have had a few dreams were I was so high I put the bowl down fearing my coworkers would notice lol.

Smoking weed hasn't really effected my recall or progress. My dreams are a little more vivid actually.
I was so much older then, I'm younger then that now.

Detox, detox, detox! Drink a ton of water, take your vitamins, and eat Wheaties. A clear and efficient mind is the key to dream recall. I find that after drinking alcohol (or smoking) my recall is horrifyingly awful. And don't think that cannabinoids destroy all progress, but they do make things a little cloudy for a short, but frustrating amount of time(I've experimented with spice, not too many good experiences). Good luck with your recall. Happy dreamin
