Upon investigating some of my most recent lucid dreams, I've decided that my biggest obstacle is false awakenings. I've had some of the most infuriating and obvious false awakenings in my lucid dreams, and for some reason I can never seem to defend from them. Looking over my dreams, it seems that I just assume I've had a false awakening any time the scene changes rapidly while I'm lucid. The hard part is that I can't seem to react the way I should, i.e. with a reality check. The very moment it happens, my lucidity's gone, and then I'll actually try to go back to sleep wherever I am (this includes parks, the den of my grandparents' house, and other ridiculous places). Even though I usually become lucid again once I've "fallen asleep," it never occurs to me within the dream that I'd never left it. I'm sick of my lucid dreams being fragmented by scene changes that cause me to try to DEILD, especially those that under any other circumstances wouldn't even be considered FAs. In your experience, what are some of the best ways to bust false awakenings?
