First WILD experience, where did I go wrong?

Hello Dreamviews! I'm already familiar with this site, I just thought to jump in and ask my question because I really need some answers, I'm very excited. You see, this morning I actually had my first lucid dream experience. I woke up, thought about lucid dreaming, and laid back down on my back. I laid there for a few minutes and actually fell into sleep paralysis faster than I thought I would.

I kind of nudged my body, and can confirm I couldn't move. No hallucinations, and after a few seconds I began to vibrate. This is where things went strange, as I closed my eyes and some sort of colored objects (some red, some yellow, a lot of red in fact) began to kind of fly around. I remembered the OBE part of it and began to imagine myself in a different position than before. I tried to kind of move out of my body and I woke up after that.

Very disappointing as I was looking forward to an LD. This was similar to when I tried a WBTB, and when I went back to bed, I began to vibrate and it was almost as if the sun shining through my window got brighter. I was a little more nervous at that time so I jolted myself out of it, but regretted it heavily after that. I could have had something there.

My question about all of this is, where did I go wrong in my WILD attempt? What I can I do to fix it? I would also like your opinions, thoughts, and advice on my experiences. Thank you very much for reading all of this, I appreciate you.

You attempted an OBE trying to attempt a lucid dream. I don't know where you messed up. sorry
I'm not an expert on the subject of OBEs.

Something broke SP and woke you up. This is usually caused by excitement, but could have been caused by some unknown factor. I don't think you did anything wrong. Too many unknown variables to know exactly why it didn't work out. You may not have had a successful WILD but experiencing SP is still a success, since the hard part is already done by that point.

Don't look at it as you did something wrong, you're just experimenting.
It's not a failure either, merely a learning experience.

I can't say you did anything wrong, just seemed to get a bit excited, absolutely nothing wrong with that and it'll go away with practice. And hey, congrats on getting into sp!

This all takes time, practice and patients. Never give and good luck!

I kind of used to have the same problem. Once I get SP and get the vibrations. I just lay as still as I can and relax with my eyes closed and wait it out. sooner or later, the vibrations will just be gone. At this point I just open my eyes, always to find myself lying on bed. But once I do a reality check, I realize I'm actually in a dream and I begin my lucid. So next time, just relax and stay still until it goes away. Then reality check (i prefer the nose plug RC.) good luck

I've noticed that I sometimes reach this vibration state without being in SP and I can control and manipulate the vibrations to make them stronger, the first times I did that, I entered a dream but recently when I've tried to manipulate the vibrations, they would just first become stronger and then go away completely and I would snap out.

I guess I should just let it be and relax.

Sounds very familiar, somewhere last week I was controlling these vibrations to make them as strong as possible (which most of the time leads into a LD for me) but then they became so strong that a vein popped in my left eye, leaving me partially blind in that eye!
Which luckily was a dream, but it was a rather scary experience.

As for where you went wrong, I would guess it was the part where you tried to move out of your body, maybe you were slowly waking up and this trying to move increased the process. I've had times in which I tried to visualize moving my body which would lead me into feeling my physical body, which would wake me up very quickly.
When I'm in a similar situation (the vibrations and floating objects stage) I usually just wait for a dream scene to slowly appear, for example my room, I would slowly see the ceiling appear. For me its really easy to just move into the dream once the scene is there.
