      finding dream guide HELP??

hey all the other night i became lucid and decided to look for my dream guide, but it seemed like whenever i was near someone they would pretend their my dream guide.

so how do you really find your dream guide???? what do you do as it seems random DC are teasing u by pretending.

There are those who believe dream guides are real, in other words that they are otherworldly beings which are "different" from regular dream characters.

Then there are those who believe dream guides are simply creations of our mind, just like regular dream characters, with no difference whatsoever.

I belong in the second category. Your dream guide is whoever you want him/her to be. If your "expectation" together with your dream control is very strong, then you'll have no problems finding (actually "creating") your dream guide.

In addition to what Jakob said, there are also people, such as myself, who believe that dream guides are a representative of one's subconscious (i.e., allowing for more direct communication with your subconscious than a regular DC would).

Anyway, I'm not sure how to go about finding your dream guide (I haven't found mine yet), but perhaps you could incorporate it into MILD (e.g., "Tonight, I will meet my dream guide) or even attempt to directly summon him/her.

I agree. Autosuggestion is a very powerful thing. I haven't met my dream guide yet, but I have an idea of what I want him/her to look like. I'm planning to call out to her/him in my lucid dreams (haven't remembered to do it while lucid yet). If someone responds, awesome. If not, I guess he/she just doesn't want to reveal him/herself yet. Also, you may have more than one dream guide! So that's cool too ;D

      Good luck.

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

I'm in the same boat as the others in this thread as far as beliefs in how dream guide work goes. If I were to try finding my dream guide, I'd do this (as paigeyemps alluded to above): raise your hand up into the the air and call out "dream guide, if you're out there, show yourself." Then they should come out.

Also, try looking for consistencies in your dreams. Are there any reocurring DCs? Take note, and they might be your DG.
