There are those who believe dream guides are real, in other words that they are otherworldly beings which are "different" from regular dream characters. |

In addition to what Jakob said, there are also people, such as myself, who believe that dream guides are a representative of one's subconscious (i.e., allowing for more direct communication with your subconscious than a regular DC would). |

I agree. Autosuggestion is a very powerful thing. I haven't met my dream guide yet, but I have an idea of what I want him/her to look like. I'm planning to call out to her/him in my lucid dreams (haven't remembered to do it while lucid yet). If someone responds, awesome. If not, I guess he/she just doesn't want to reveal him/herself yet. Also, you may have more than one dream guide! So that's cool too ;D |

I'm in the same boat as the others in this thread as far as beliefs in how dream guide work goes. If I were to try finding my dream guide, I'd do this (as paigeyemps alluded to above): raise your hand up into the the air and call out "dream guide, if you're out there, show yourself." Then they should come out. |
