Quick question on attempting to induce L.Ding

For some reason I am always worried about doing something that will break my concentration when trying to WILD. Is it alright to scratch your nose or anything like that when trying to induce LDing? Also, I find that counting has had little to no success for me. I have entered what I think is hypnagogia, but for some reason it always seems to end w/out resulting in a LD. I have been trying to LD for months now, with no success. Any help is appreciated.

Well if you're just starting SP then yes its okay to scratch your nose or whichever part of your body that is itchy also just keep going eventually you'll get there hey I had to count to around 5,000 breaths to eventually reach the dream (and succeeded in lucidty) also BELEIVE in yourself that you will have a lucid dream you MUST do this without it your chances of succeeding is greatly reduced without this I wouldn't of been able to achieve my first LD in one day.

I would try inducind lucid dreams with the techniques MILD & DILD if you are starting off. WILD is hard for starters (for me anyway) and you are more likely to have an LD doing them two techniques. I had my first LD after about 2-3 weeks after trying so you'll get there eventually

And to answer your orginal question
Try and clear your mind and if you can't do that, focus on something like the warmth underneath you, back of your eye lids, that faint ringing you hear when it's silent and if you need to itch, try and ignore it and be patient. Good luck with future LDing

Can you listen to music whilst doing it or will that be too distracting? I normally listen to music cause it helps me get to sleep & I thought it might help pass the time instead of counting!

It is not necessary that you feel much paralysis or that you see imagery to perform wild, this guide is excellent for WILDing. Instead of focusing on the NREM (SP) focus on your dream. http://www.dreamviews.com/f79/mancon...hnique-128996/

Generally I try to stay perfectly still while trying to induce a lucid dream. Sure it's ok to scratch your nose or something... But if you're close to getting the LD, then you shouldn't... Or at least that's what I think...
      Oof.
