I find while falling asleep (not exactly SP) my body functions tend to slow down, almost to a hibernation rate. I don't want to say I stop swallowing... but I can say I'm not even aware of it. |

Does anybody have some advice on what to do if swallowing is keeping you from relaxing and obtaining sleep paralysis? This is an obstacle I've ran into every time I've tried it, and I'm really not to sure on how to handle it. Many thanks. |

Basically try not to pay attention to it. If you're trying to sleep in some special position, I would advise you to sleep in your normal position. If you sleep on your sides you can always adjust your head a bit so it's not running to the back of your throat. And you can always check out these other threads. |

Thanks so much for the insight, it turns out I was sleeping in a somewhat unnatural position, I usually sleep in a weird curled up position and if I stay still for too long my arms start falling asleep! Thanks for those threads too for some reason my search came up with nothing when I tried. |

No problem, good luck, and welcome to DV. |
