      Unhappy Need help with DILD

Ok so during the day I reality check every 1 hour. I question my reality, look at my surroundings, plug my nose, look at my hands, try to push my finger through my hand,.. And I practise All day awareness for about 2 hours everyday. I noticed my dream signs are changing alot, for example: That night I dream about school, then about a party, then about an old friend,.. So It's hard to do a reality check towards a dream signs, cause they change all the time. Some people say you should do a RC towards dream signs. Other people say when you see something weird, perform a RC. I only had 1 DILD in 78 days. I realised I was dreaming because it was a nightmare. How come I've never performed a reality check in my dreams even though I do reality checks everyday for 78 days now? Is it suppose to take so long before you can perform a RC in your dream? I'm still waiting for my 2nd lucid dream to come. c:

I know I post alot, sorry about that haha.

Just a suggestion from m past experience. Take a break. Usually when I haven't had a LD for months, I feel like quitting so I do, and I have a LD that night or the next! Also do you keep a Dream Journal? You might just be forgetting some LD's you had in the middle of the night.

Yeah I do have a dream journal. I can recall about 5-6 dreams every night. I usually wake up 2 times during the night for a WBTB + so it's easier for me to recall my dreams. And if I would take a break, i'm sure I will feel bad for not putting effort into lucid dreaming. o:

Yeah it's just that sometimes it seems if you focus too hard on having a LD, your chances of having one go down. Or if you sleep in your bed every night, sleep on the couch or something. Sometimes changes like that can get you a LD!

Alright, I guess I'll have to take a break then. Like stop doing Reality checks/ADA and just focus on my recall when I get up. For how long should I take a break btw?

It's up to you how long you wanna take a break, probabaly only a week or two, not too long. Only do this if you feel like it'll help though, I don't want to force you into doing something you don't want to do.

I think you're missing the point of dream signs. They're not similar dreams, they're are similar things that keep popping up in any dream. If I'm wrong feel free to correct me since I'm back into this after a year.
Goodnight and good luck. On and onwards, dreamers!

Yeah I know what you mean. But it seems like there isn't anything that pops up everytime in my dream. Most of the time, it's always a different place and different persons. D:

"All day awareness for about 2 hours everyday" that's SAT not ADA. Lucids just come to you, nothing you can do to speed up the process if you're already doing everything you should be doing.

I'm not sure if not practicing is a good idea. I have my dry spells also but I still practice every day and I typically have a few LD's a week.

Without practice my LD's drop to none.

Practice for me is just looking at my hands a few times a day but it's enough to create a semi-constant feeling of awareness. Just my opinion.

I agree though you can't stress out about it. Just practice during the day and have the intention to dream that night and if it doesn't happen you get another chance the next night.

lol, kinda opposite for me.last 2 days, in my dreams i do obvious things that should lead me to lucidity, but i just dont recognize them. for example , yesterday i dreamt that i was making new dj, with a ''do a rc'' writing on it, so every time i looked at my dj i did a rc. well it didnt lead me to lucidity. what a shame other day i dremt that i was talking to my friend, and telling him about rc's and didnt become lucid either. i usually become lucid without reason, and do rc just to make sure

I think that you need to focus more on believing you can have a lucid dream and spend less time on the "routine" reality checks. Although I've only had one lucid, the two days before it I spend as much of my day convincing myself that I had the capability of having a lucid dream and I will for sure have one that night. I believe that it was that from of thinking (believing you will have a LD) that works better than just trying to create a habit of asking yourself if your dreaming.

However truly convincing yourself that you will have a lucid dream while removing 99% of the doubt in your mind requires A LOT of energy and willpower, which is the reason why I haven't tried it again (yet).
