      Post Trying something different, suggestions

Holding off on SP induced lucidity, failed, alot. Any suggestions on methods? Does currently not being able to sleep quickly affect anything, I normally black out within 20 or so minutes, taking me over an hour now. So yeah, any help would be appreciated, getting really close to just sleeping, normally.

Try MILD. It's pretty easy and has a fairly good success rate and will help you get relaxed while you fall asleep. What you do is as you fall asleep repeat a mantra in your head about lucid dreaming, something like, "I will become lucid tonight" or whatever you want to accomplish. If you want to just fall asleep normally and quickly, though, try meditating before you fall asleep. Don't start at the time you would normally go to sleep though, start like 20 minutes earlier so you have time to meditate without losing any sleep. Say you normally go to bed at 10:00, try meditating at like 9:40 or 9:30. Do it for 20-30 minutes then just fall asleep normally. You should be much more relaxed and have an easier time actually falling asleep.

MILD is a great technique for people looking for methods without sleep paralysis, like Burke said. Whats important though is that you don't give up on this method for at least 3-4 weeks, as the MILD method takes time to really kick in. Good luck!

I use a MILD technique that uses visualization. It is a form of self-hypnosis that works occasionally. I have found that concentrating on SP can cause insomnia so I tend to avoid it.

You can incorporate MILD into any schedule since you don't need to pair it with WBTB. When you go to bed just repeat your mantra as you're falling asleep. The goal is to have it be the last thing on your mind as you fall asleep so you aren't losing any sleep over it. Even if you do pair it with WBTB you only need to wake up enough to repeat the mantra, not a few minutes like you would for WILD. As for the visualization one I haven't really heard of it so can't comment there.
